"This is a nice place to stay downtown, and not too far away from the water. It's a lot bigger than you think, with plenty of rooms. They have complimentary breakfast and wine/cheese hour, which are nice touches. Parking is available but you need to pay for it."

"I liked the history of the place and the antiques and care they have for the style of the original 1904 design. It's situated walking distance from the wharf and a short drive to Cannery Row. It's also surrounded by several restaurants and shops. The room we stayed in didn't have A/C, so that might be challenging in the Summer. But it has a lovely fireplace, which warms the room pretty well. My husband and I are older, so it's helpful to have safety bars in bathroom and unfortunately this room didn't have that. It was difficult for me to get out of that deep tub. We will return, and perhaps stay in one of the historical rooms next time."

"Convenient location for an overnight stop in Monterey. The staff were friendly and the room was clean and comfortable. We really enjoyed the pool and hot tub, as well as the hotel bar! "
