I enjoyed staying at Pelican Inn. It was comfortable and quiet and staff were helpful and friendly. Check in and check out were easy. My only quibble would be the safety deposit, whereby $100 was held and released. It was paid back within 2 days and didnt present a problem to me because i had underspent on my holiday and had the funds. Had this not been the case it would have caused me some issues.

This is a cute older hotel in Monterey. The staff are great and rooms are clean. Location is an easy walk to downtown or the wharf. The Pelican Inn is my go to place to stay when in Monterey.

Nice motel, convenient for tourist attractions of Monterey. Room was not well maintained though- bathroom fixtures a bit rusty and a squishy patch of floor that felt like the floorboards were about to break. However- staff were great- friendly, helpful.

Wonderful area close to everything, so that was a huge plus. The room was ok - i’d book if you plan to be out most of the day. Room smelled like cigarettes and the tub was a little rusty. The guy working at the front desk was extremely rude, told me that I was making his day difficult when I went in to ask a question. I won’t be back for that reason.

The Pelican Inn is a great place to stay. Walkable to downtown and the wharf. Staff is great and really knowledgeable about the location. One of the better cheaper hotels in the area and my go to when I stay in Monterey.

The inn was older but clean. The heating/cooler system in one of our rooms didnt work well but there was a fireplace which we used instead and was very nice. In one of our other rooms the mattress farthest from the door was very uncomfortable, my quest said they could feel the spring in their back. Lucky they had the room to themselves and slept in the other bed. Would consider staying here again for short stays 1-2 nights.

From the check in it was uncomfortable, my guest not only had to park on busy street we were followed to our cars by the manager to tell us ( again ) to move her car. The room had very bad repairs to ceiling, bathroom etc. I work in home improvement so I was really shocked by the carelessness. Also no maid service, so no fresh towels or dumped trash. I not sure whats up with this place.

We have been to the Pelican Inn at least 4 times and each time we have always enjoyed the location of the lodging. We look forward to returning in the future.

Owner was rude, charged $250 deposit, did not explained for what, Owner was smoking outside but on property practically non stop. As soon you open room door smells like tobacco smoke. Property is very old. Drainage in sink was plugged, carpet Looks old and dirty, curtains smell like dust
