Our first stay at the Colton was in the late 1980s and it remains one our choice hotels in Monterey. Older hotel but quiet, well maintained, and very comfortable. Close to the downtown area. Very reasonably priced.

The front sign to the property is very faded and it is easy to pass it up, so it would be a good idea for a repaint job. The elevator has an old carpet smell, but all in all the facility is very clean and in a convenient location. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Free parking is also a major plus. The continental breakfast is basic but decent. Would stay here again

Location and price. Close to the conference center, 8 min walk. Breakfast was adequate, with hard boiled eggs, waffles, croissant, yogurt, OJ, milk, and fruit. Covered parking is free. Will stay here again.

Property was dated but overall clean. It was located in a central and safe area, very close to the downtown. The breakfast was not very good but did have plenty of carbs to fill you up. My husband was not impressed with the coffee either (I drink tea). If you come back too late in the evening (9:30 pm) there was not enough parking, so we had to park on the street.

Great propery. Easy to walk to all shops and restaurants right in the center of town. Staff on property so friendly and so accommodating. Clean and modern rooms. Quiet too. Breakfast had a nice assortment. Thank you for a great stay we will come back again.

Great location close to Old Monterey (Alvarado Street, etc, Fisherman's Wharf). Good sized rooms. Good continental breakfast. It's a motor inn, so room open up to the outside. Free parking. Would have been nice to have ev charging.,though.

The inn was clean, comfortable, and conveniently located. The staff were friendly and helpful. There was not enough parking, so we had to park on the street. It was not a busy street and my vehicle wasn't damaged, but parking on the property was advertised. Breakfast choices were very limited.

What a hidden gem and just a few blocks from the free trolley and the wharf. Super peaceful location with an off the beaten path feel from the tourist corridor. Excellent location with access to a ton of local restaurants and attractions. Well kept property.
