We had a fabulous room with a big french window (that opened wide - none of this ridiculous opening only 2 inches because of the fear of someone falling out!)and stunning view with a pretty window box full of blue pansies. From the moment we arrived we knew the Hotel Verlaine was an ideal place for our visit to Paris. Marvellous, compact hotel with cosy, well-maintained bedrooms. The location is close to many restaurants, as well as Cardinale Lemoine and Jussieu Metro stations so it was easy to get to the Louvre and the Musee D'Orsay, which were our main holiday objectives. The staff were wonderfully helpful, and spoke very good English, making this a perfect, low-cost stay for us in this extraordinary, beautiful city.

We had a great stay at Hotel Du Lion, the location is great, right next to a large metro stop with several lines. The room is small, but larger than a lot of similarly priced hotels in Paris. The room was very clean, except for the shower curtain, which was too long and stained as a result, as it was always wet. The service was great, they have locked storage cupboards for your bags after you check out and speak reasonable English, far better than my French anyway.
