Cheap Flights to Paris

Paris is, without a doubt, one of the most popular destinations on the planet – but, you don’t need to dig too deep to pay for your flights to the French capital. You can be enjoying the wide, tree-lined avenues, grand architecture, world–class museums, art galleries, opera, theatre, cafes and fashion boutiques after bagging a cheap flight from Expedia. Let’s show you how.

When to Book Cheap Flights to Paris

It’s not just the season that is all-important for the haute-couture of Paris. It’s just as important a consideration if you are booking a flight and looking for a bargain deal.

Spring is very popular in romantic Paris, and as a result you can expect flight fares to rise and attractions to be busier.

Autumn also has a charm of its own, but there are many more bargains to be found in the months of September to November.

The true off-season, though, is winter. Avoid the Christmas and New Year period and there are many cheap flights available between November and March. Do pack warm clothes, though, and your brolly!

How to Find the Best Flight Deals for Paris

It’s not just the time of year, however, that can help you find the best deals on flights to Paris. Sometimes it’s down to the tactics you use for searching, and here are some to try out right now.

With so many airports in the UK offering departures to Paris it can sometimes pay big time to search beyond your closest. Expedia offers you a ‘Nearby Airports’ option when you search for your flights. You’ll find this under your chosen departure location – and it allows you to explore the deals available from other UK airports.

If you are searching for flights from London to Paris you can widen your net by selecting all London airports, rather than just a specific one. And, likewise, don’t forget to check prices to both of the airports in Paris as well.

For those not restricted to set days, cheaper flights can be found by using our ‘Show Flexible Dates’ feature. This appears just above where your flight options are returned – and it lets you see exactly when the cheapest tickets to Paris are near your preferred dates.

Main Airports in Paris

If you're booking direct flights from the UK you'll land at either Charles de Gaulle Airport or Paris Orly Airport. Unfortunately, there are no longer direct flights from UK to Beauvais–Tillé Airport, a low-cost airport favoured by budget airlines flying to Paris.

Charles de Gaulle

The second busiest airport in Europe is also known as Roissy Airport. It’s a big airport that boasts three terminals and plenty of great onward travel options. These include the RER commuter train (from terminals 2 and 3), the Roissybus (from all terminals) and taxi or car hire. The Magical Shuttle bus can whisk you off to Disneyland Paris straight from the airport.

Paris-Orly is the country’s second busiest airport, after Charles de Gaule. As you’d expect, it’s easy enough to head into the attractions that Paris offers from here. You can catch the OrlyBus into the city or take the Orlyval light rail to connect with the RER train line. Taxis and car hire options are plentiful, and those heading for Disneyland can jump on the Magical Shuttle.

How to Get Around in Paris

Paris is actually a surprisingly compact and walkable city. But, should you need to give your legs a rest, the Paris Metro will transport you between quartiers quickly. It runs until 12:30am and a ticket will give you unlimited access all day to both the trains and city buses.

Fancy Seeing the Bits of Paris That Others Miss?

The Eiffel Tower, the Louvre, the Pompidou and the Arc de Triomphe: been there, done that? Paris still has many secrets to reveal, and here are just three of them.

The countryside in the city

A true haven that Paris harbours is 'la campagne à Paris'. This slice of rural life in the heart of the metropolitan city is a neighbourhood of 92 pavilions that offers all the tranquillity of a typical French village in the centre of Paris itself.

Nearest Metro: Porte de Bagnolet

The ghosts of the city

Underneath the French capital are caves left from where stone was extracted for Haussmann’s colossal urban renewal project. The Catacombs are where the remains of 6,000,000 Parisians were transferred from cemeteries into these caves. Here you can delve into the history of Paris and meet its ghosts.

Nearest Metro: Denfert Rochereau

The old streets of the city

Rue des Francs Bourgeois is in the chic district of Marais. Here old, luxurious town houses rub shoulders with trendy cafes and bars, and fashionistas can explore designer boutiques to their heart’s content. Stroll further down this atmospheric street and the Place des Vosges awaits: this is where Victor Hugo once resided and invented his tales of Parisian life.

Nearest Metro: St Paul

What can I say about British airways other than what an amazing airline. It was son's first time flying so he was very nervous. The cabin crew were fantastic with my son when we first boarded, they seem he was nervous so they introduced us to the pilot and first officer in the cockpit which made my son's day. Even though it was only a short flight the cabin crew kept checking on my son to make sure he was enjoying his first time flying. Even when we landed and were exiting the plane they made sure he was ok. I could not ask for better service than that. Many airlines could learn from British airways on how to treat passengers. I will certainly fly with British airways again when traveling as they make the whole trip very easy and comfortable.
