"Very pleasant stay"
Felt well looked after by everyone there. The room was very clean and comfortable with nice art work and a nice solid table - two wine glasses were also provided. There are two different metro stations nearby which is practical and the Eiffel Tour is within walking distance. A seemingly family run hotel, it has much more charm than most.

"Great hotel! "
Great location: close to metro & restaurants/cafes. room lovely, but very hot as upstairs & no aircon: consider this of staying in summer. Wifi very poor: intermittent coverage, low signal. We didn't have breakfast: you can get breakfast food at the monoprix across the road for half the price.

"Superb location. Quiet clean amazing value. "
Superb location. Clean quiet. Very tired decor. Carpets stained. Room smelt of cigarette smoke but only on second night. Maybe cleaner smokes or reception smoke drugs up? Amazing value for money.

"Great cheap option if you are on a budget,"
Room was large, bathroom large, toilet was on a lean, shower over bath so water goes everywhere. We had room 1 at the back of reception, it was very very quiet except for the metro under the building but this didn't bother us as we were so exhausted from our journey. The room was very warm and we could open the window always a bonus.

"Great clean hotel, 2 Mins from Metro"
Enjoyed my stay at the Hotel Darcet, all the staff were very friendly and helpful when asked questions. The room was also super clean and comfortable. Easy access to all the major attractions from the Metro. I can only mimic and agree with all the positive words from other reviews I based my stay on. A few other things I haven't seen mentioned too much in the reviews which may help you make a decision to stay here is the ease of access to the Gare Du Nord for the Eurostar. The receptionist kindly allowed me to keep my bag there after checking out so I had another day to explore Paris before heading back on an evening train. There is also a BNP bank 2 mins away from the hotel which doesn't charge a fee for withdrawals (for certain banks in UK part of the global alliance) which was handy as I rarely came across an ATM when out and about. Although there is a bakery directly outside the hotel, there are also at least 2 more larger ones I visited 2mins walk down the road towards Rome station over the other side of the road which I visited frequently. Be aware they don't take card for smaller amounts so make sure you have change! There was also a nice little market there on Sundays. You also get a good view of Sacre Coeur when heading back! I never felt unsafe at night in the area around Place de Clichy and it wasn't a seedy area, it was packed with busy restaurants and bars. I would happily stay here again on my next visit!

"Quiet hotel near to metro"
I really enjoyed my stay. Staff were friendly and the room was very clean. I had lots of lovely sleep and there is a lift which is useful if you have very heavy cases like I did. Restaurant next door was great too - cheap but good traditional food. Best thing about hotel was proximity to metro gare de L'est - literally about 30 paces from the entrance. Very convenient!

Pocket Guide: 2 stars Hotels in Paris

When asked what we picture when we hear the name “Paris”, most of us would say the Eiffel Tower, the Seine, and expensive department stores. Spend a little time there, though, and you’ll find that there’s more to this beautiful city than first meets the eye. Once you’ve visited all the top tourist spots – Notre Dame, the Louvre, the Arc de Triomphe – try exploring the less touristy parts of the city.

Though Paris is known for being expensive, there’s also a side to the city that embraces a more down-to-earth style of living. A walking tour of the city’s most famous markets will yield cheap souvenirs, bargain clothing, and the tastiest of French street food. The Metro is a cheap and easy way to get around town, and stunning (free) views of the city can be had from the Sacré-Cœur in Montmartre.

Book a Room in a 2 Star Hotel in Paris

If you’re seeking bargain accommodation in Paris, try using the Expedia search tool to find an affordable two star hotel in the city.
