Check in was at a bar, which is a bit akward. Rooms are tiny. Bathroom has no shampoo or hair dryer.

"Cheapest Rate I found in Toronto."
Cheap room. Very very basic. Hallways were a mess including a towel on the stairs. The sheets and surfaced were clean, the remote for the smallish TV sort of worked. One third of the TV channels had a message saying they were unavailable and any rapid motion became pixelated. Several wall outlets didn't work and extension cords were looped together to accommodate the electric devices. The light switches in the room looked like they hadn't been cleaned since the room was decorated 15 years ago. There was a very minor leak in the bathroom and a bit of mildew on the ceiling. But it was cheap. For 35% more you can get less of the homeless shelter feel. I'm really not complaining. The room was small, quiet and I had a good nights sleep. The internet speed was pretty good.

"A surprising stay for an affordable price :)"
We stayed here for New Year's Eve and it was a pleasant surprise to arrive to such friendly staff. We got upgraded to the biggest bedroom, a clean, well-kept room with minor stains on the carpet. There was a fridge, microwave, and toaster, as well as our own bathroom, walk-in closet, and a queen-sized bed. The room itself was quiet and the neighbourhood seemed safe, with a Shoppers 30 seconds away. The location was the best part of the deal, as it was within walking distance to downtown Toronto, with plenty of shopping to do and sights to see. Overall, I really enjoyed my stay at the Keppner, and not only would I recommend it to those on a budget, but I would go there again in the future.

"Good location, clean, inexpensive"
The hotel was really nice inside with lovely pictures hanging on the walls. The parking spot we reserved was too small for our small car. This was annoying but we ended up parking in the lot beside the hotel which was reasonably priced. I wish there were heavier covers on the bed. Would be perfect for budget traveling if I didn't need the parking.

"Great small hotel in a terrific location"
The Saint James is in an excellent location to enjoy Toronto. The staff is attentive and, since it is a small hotel, there is a really personal feel to everything. The room was spacious and comfortable, with a few odd design choices. For example, the sliding doors on the bathroom and closet were lovely and elegant but didn't function very well. The complimentary breakfast at the on-site restaurant was just ok but the coffee machine in the lobby that dispenses coffee, latte, etc. is a great plus. The welcome bag of snacks was also a nice touch. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and are likely to return in the future.

"Well-kept hotel in downtown Toronto"
The Econolodge more than met my expectations. It is in a very convenient location although it is right next to a pretty sketchy neighborhood. The room was small but adequate, clean and had been updated; everything was comfortable and the staff friendly.
