We found the hotel on google and booked for a one night stay on the way to Cornwall.
We arrived quite late due to traffic but the hotel owner Isobel and her staff could not have been more helpful.
The hotel room was spacious, modern and very comfortable and the hotel has a small boutique feel about it.
The breakfast area is quite small, but the service and food were of a very high standard and we will definitely stay again.

Hotel staff very welcoming, room clean/tidy/comfortable.
Breakfast was superb.
Overall the hotel was set in a fantastic location and we will definitely be returning for another visit!
(one night stop was not long enough to fully appreciate the service/thoughtfulness of the staff and the fantastic scenery that surrounded the hotel)

It was the break we needed on our travels around the UK. One night in this lovely easy to find hotel was the refreshing change we needed. Our lovely room opened out onto a garden setting which made for a relaxing afternoon. Having a restaurant and bar within the complex made our meals a pleasurable walk away.

I stayed with my husband as part of a business trip. He would stay again for business and we would have no qualms about staying again if in the area. No complaints, room clean and tidy and of very good size. Staff polite and helpful. Ate in the bar area in the evening as restaurant closed - good quality and tasty food. High quality breakfast with a good choice.

An excellent overnight stay, very dog friendly, in this excellent pub/restaurant.
B&B was superb - our little Yorkshire Terrier was even offered a cold sausage for breakfast!
The room was all that I could have asked for and being on the ground floor it was a bonus when I needed to 'walk the dog'!

It was good to stay in a hotel which is different to the more modern spa hotels where all the rooms are the same.
The staff are keen to assist in any way they can. The receptionist remembered my name and staff in the restaurant had the knack of being there when needed and somewhere else when not. The restauant may not be to everyone's taste. It seeks to be high cuisine which means the food is very good but the portions, whilst adequate, may seem a bit small to some. It is also expensive. However, unusually for this type of restaurant there are some reasonably priced wines available. I would recommend that guests try the restauant at least once but if you prefer something more homely there is a really good pub about 200 yards away with a thatched roof, cask ales and the home baked pies are just brilliant.
Breakfast at this hotel is teriffic. Its not the usual buffet available in most hotels anywhere on the planet - you order what you want and they prepare it fresh. Try the porridge - its great - actually, so are the muffins and eggs, - and the salmon - and the full English and the coffee - they even get the toast right!
The spa is very good. It is small but there is a hot tub, warm pool (not really big enough to swim in) a sauna, steam room , laconium and various showers. They also let you wander around the hotel in your bathrobes.
This is a good hotel which is not pretentious in any way. I would have no hesitation in recomending it to friends.
