Excellent 3 night stay at the OK Hotel, right in the centre of Reyjavik. Comfy, clean, spacious apartment worked well for 3 of us, with good restaurants nearby, including a Korean one beneath. If you want to be right in the heart of the city in a trendy apartment this is a great place to stay!
Loved Apartment K. King studio room was great, the TempurPedic bed was so comfy after a long days exploring. Having the kitchen and washer/dryer was so convenient. People are complaining about the glass door for the bathroom. You couldn't see the shower or the toilet, so for couples, it's fine. If you're traveling with someone you're less intimate with, contact the hotel, as the staff is very helpful and accommodating, and will put you in a suitable room.
The location can't be beat. You're in the heart of the shopping district, and just a couple of blocks away from the waterfront. Everything you need is at the doorstep. There's lots of available street parking on Thingholtstraeti, and surrounding streets, which is free after 6, should you have a rental vehicle.
Only complaint, the wifi is not good in the room we were in. To do anything, we did have to go to the lobby. We weren't there to surf the web though, so it wasn't a huge issue for us. We were only checking the weather, etc.
I would definitely stay here again if I come back to Iceland.
I fell in love with Reykjavik the last time I was here already and returned ! I found myself in the centre of the city 5 minutes walking distance to all local sights and shops as well as to the seafront ! The staff was amazingly friendly and helpful for directions and tips and everything else ( the Spanish lady at the reception in particular) and I felt very much at home. the little surprises from the Yule lads on the door were just a little bonus. See you soon Reykjavik and most definitely in this hotel if I have the chance !
Initially was apprehensive there was no receptionist, however the team were a phonecall/email away. Their response is quick. Facilities in the room/kitchen well equipped. They provide everything from coffee filters to even egg slicers. Room was fantastic. Very clean, very warm and beds were very comfortable. Perfect to protect you from the minus 7 blizzard we had experienced whilst there. 24/7 supermarket is opposite the north star apartments. Subway is a minute walk and there are a couple restaurants and cafés which are also directly opposite the apartments.Overall, strongly recommended.
I spent three nights at CenterHotel Arnarhvoll and really enjoyed it. The location is amazing, right on the waterfront and an easy walk to all of the attractions. The staff were very accommodating. I had an early flight so missed breakfast, but they had coffee and croissants available. Breakfast was very good.
I will certainly return to this hotel on my next trip to Iceland!
Well organized hotel, very friendly staff and excellent breakfast. We had a clean, quiet room with very nice view over the city; we got tips on tours, tips on dinners and other activities, we have been served with early breakfast (at 4am!) and got pickup service when ever we needed. We have absolutely nothing to complain. Eliska & Laura (mother and daughter) from The Netherlands.
EVERYTHING WE NEEDED IN SELF CATERING ACCOMODATION,, VERY CLEAN AND SOME NICE EXTRAS LIKE TEA, COFFEE AND SUGAR, ALSO A COFFEE MAKER TOASTER, WASHING UP LIQUID AND SOAP. HEATING VERY EFFICIENT AS THERE WAS PLENTY OF SNOW OUTSIDE, AND COLD WINDS. PLEASE BE AWARE THE FLYBUS FROM THE AIRPORT STOPS AT THE BSI BUS STATION WHICH IS ON THE OUTSKIRTS OF THE MAIN TOWN.
