I have used a lot of hotels through Expedia and this is the first time I take time to write a review. This place was beautiful. Staff was excellent, and the breakfast was great!. We had one of the master suites...the bathroom was amazing....it looks like it was built yesterday. There is a small parking garage behind, but the door man will take it and bring it for you no problem. WIFI worked great. And the bed was very comfortable....we wanted to stay longer, but had to return home.
Located on the beautiful Paseo de Montejo. Many things to do and see within walking distance. Many nice restaurants in the immediate area. Staff could not have been any friendlier or more helpful. Will definitely be going back. Cost is one of the best deals to be found in Merida.
I have stayed at this Holiday Inn many times over the past 30 years. The decor is much the same but that is OK ... it is a kind of timeless colonial style that wears well. The beds are OK but they need to go to pillow-top matresses soon. There were lots of comfortable pillows. They also need to install an ice machine on every floor.
I continute to chose this hotel because of its location near some interesting shopping, it has free parking outside the crush of the colonial downtown and the staff are friendly and welcoming. I will go back again.
