On arrival was I was disappointed with the receptionist and her de-meaner. A nice welcome would have made all the difference. We were given room 224 which was on the first floor (no problems with this). The room was small and very, very hot. We opened the window fully to let some air into the room. We unpacked and went straight out to meet with my son. When we arrived back the window was still wide open and the room was very warm still. We had the most uncomfortable nights sleep we ever had at this hotel and we've stayed here on 3 occasions. Also the room was on a main walkway between landings and the flooring outside of our room was creaking and squeaking like hell. You could here every little footstep, it was really awful and woke us up everytime someone walked past, and every little word spoken.
The next morning I complained about the heat, the noise and the flooring. I asked that we be moved and the new receptionist was very polite and accommodating. We were moved to a much larger room and one that had air conditioning. Unfortunately though, the experience of our first nights stay spoiled the whole experience for us and put a bit of a cloud over the whole weekend.
Would I go back????? Not sure to be fair. Rooms were clean, beds okay, pillows bit hard to be honest and reception experience very poor.
Nottingham... why not? BEST WESTERN Westminster Hotel - elegantly converted from Victorian homes - offers modern convenience …More
Our room was on the 9th floor and well above from the road and local pubs but you still need to keep the windows closed for a good nights sleep. Our friends on the 2nd floor were not so lucky. We had an Exec Room which was a nice size and had everything we needed for a short city break.
This hotel is in the centre of Nottingham and within walking distance to Market Sq, Lace Market, all restaurants and bars.
Decor is slightly dated in the rooms, the double room was very small & the bed seemed smaller than a double bed. For a 1 night stay in Nottingham, it was suffice however for any longer, I would recommend a customer to research properly & maybe book somewhere else. Staff were friendly, no complaints on that part.
this hotel was one of the best we have stayed in we were only there for one night but have stayed in many across the country and aboard and this compared with some of the best we have stayed and would consider staying again when in the area
