"Overall was very pleased with our 2 night stay. The room was a bit too warm for us even although the window was open, so maybe the addition of a fan would be a consideration. Also the very excellent shower could have benefitted from a slightly deeper shower tray. The bathroom floor was a bit flooded and it if it hadn’t been for the shower mat, the consequences could have been worse. "Beautiful old building. Great area. Rooms were quite nice and clean. Just no staff were ever present in our three night stay. An elderly couple who couldn’t speak English sat in the front lobby, often. I’m not sure if they worked there cleaning rooms or were a guest but if the worked there they made no attempt to communicate or help out, which was an issue because the front door to the building on a busy street was always left open"

"I like the location. The bus is just next to the house. The responsable gave us some information about the famous attractions in Edinburgh. He has a dog called Tom. He's very friendly. It was the first time i wasn't scared of a dog. I noticed just that the room isn't warm enough. But in general i liked the experience"

"We had an amazing stay from start to finish. Ian gave us a tour if the castle along with a history. The rooms were cozy, the bed was very comfortable. The owners even gave us a ride to the tram when we were unable to find a taxi. Sue and Ian are a friendly helpful couple. "
