"Brathay Lodge makes for a very comfortable and convenient stay in the Lake District. The room was modern and well-maintained and the staff friendly and considerate. There is a parking fee (unless booked direct) but you’d have to pay elsewhere anyway. If you have an electric car it’s a good idea to let them know in advance so you can use their reasonably-priced ProjectEV charger. The continental breakfast was fresh and varied and set us up for the day. Would definitely stay there again. "

"The hotel was advertised as having a restaurant. After a long day at work and travelling I arrived to be told the restaurant wasn’t open. I was told there were places I could drive to but after a long day didn’t really want to. I got myself showered and changed. When down in the bar other residents were there and the next thing pizza arrived for staff and residents. Quite annoying that nobody had let me know when they were aware I was wanting food. "Cozy and warm place to stay. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. The food is great too. It takes twenty minutes to get to the railway station. Highly recommend. "
