"Good Location"
This apartment suited us really well because we have two young children. The apartments have a good car park and are within easy reach off a bus stop with frequent buses taking you to Princess street, the quay or Hollyrood.

"Good hotel near the center of Edinburgh"
My family and I stayed at the G&V for our three nights in Scotland. This hotel is fairly new and has been updated. The decor in places is a little funky/glam with bold colors like purple, pink and black but nothing that ever really put me off. Very nice helpful staff on check in and elsewhere. Our room was one of the bigger ones because we got a room with a sleeper sofa for my son. Even so the room was not overly large but what you would expect in the UK. One big plus we really liked was that the room had a mini fridge partially stocked with drinks and a few nibbles which was complimentary! I don't know if this is always the case, but we loved it so I would ask if you book a room. The shower in this bathroom was the best of three hotels I stayed in during my visit to the UK. I looked forward to it at the end of each day. The bed was also quite comfortable. Our stay included a free breakfast which gave you all the continental breakfast choices plus a few more choices with eggs and ham, salmon, etc.

"Great hotel, very convenient to go into town from."
Stayed 2 nights, tried the steak on stones restaurant which was great but slow. My only complaint would be that the room was extremely hot and muggy even with both the windows open. It would be great if they supplied a fan to each room or looked at air conditioning. Other than that brilliant hotel.

"Easy access by bus to Royal Mile"
We were given room 5 on the ground level. A decanter of sherry and shortbreads were provided in our room on arrival. The room appeared to have been recently refurbished. Jetted tub in the bathroom. Large fluffy towels and bathrobes were provided. Everything was clean. Comfortable bed and a large TV. Initially I was concerned about noise from the adjacent stairs. I shouldn't have been worried, the room was exceptionally quiet. The reception staff gave us instructions and change for the bus into town. (4GBP bus pass for the whole day). The bus trip took less than 10 min from the front of the hotel to the Royal Mile. There were frequent buses to and from the center of town. Free parking provided in the lot behind the hotel. Hot breakfast cooked to order. We decided to stay for an additional night. Room 5 had been booked so we were moved to a much larger room (#8) upstairs. The room had a 4 poster bed and couch in front of a bay window. It was quiet as well, I didn't hear any traffic noise from the street. The only minor downside was that the floor squeeked as much as the floors of Hollyrood palace. I did not hear any footfalls or noise from other patrons. It was a great stay

"Great little hotel with wonderful staff"
The hotel is lovely and the staff was truly wonderful! And we had one of our best meals in Edinburgh at the hotel restaurant! A word of caution though-our room was on the top floor (no lift) and it was a hike to get up there. And you have to climb out of the tube/shower, which is pretty awkward. Our friends had a room on the ground floor facing the garden, which was gorgeous!

"Trendy hotel in New Town"
Tigerlily is a fun, trendy hotel catering to young travelers. It's quite girlie with lots of pink, purple and flowers and a bar/restaurant with a fun cocktail list. I would recommend this to women looking for a girls' weekend and younger couples. The rooms have romantic fireplaces, are decorated with antiques and include amentities such as curling irons & straighteners. However, the bar gets quite loud in the evening which does filter up to the rooms and there is no real lobby area for travelers who need a quiet space outside the bar or restaurant. The view from our room left a lot to be desired -- our room looked over an abandoned office building that looks like it is ready to be torn down. The location is not as interesting to first time visitors to Edinburgh since the walk to Old Town is quite far.

"Excellent views in the heart of Edinburgh"
My family rented two rooms for a 3 day stay in Edinburgh. The location is fantastic, right between Old Town and New Town, close to many points of interest, including the Castle, Holyrood Palace and the Royal Mile. The rooms are spacious and well appointed. The courtyard is fantastic with great views of the city. Parties at the courtyard can get a bit loud during the night, but this was minimal. There is an excellent bar/lounge. On our first night, the AC unit was snot working in one of the rooms. It was quite sunny, and as the hotel name implies, the rooms have quite a bit of glass. In fact, without AC, the room was a greenhouse- far too warm. We asked if room could be changed. We received a fan, but no explanation or apology. Sometimes things happen, but it could have been handled much more graciously, particularly at a hotel of this caliber. Eventually we were moved to another room for the remainder of our stay

"Weekend Break"
Visited Edinburgh for the weekend, having found No11 on TripAdvisor. The reviews were great and I have to say we weren't disappointed. Very warm welcome at reception who surprised us with a free room upgrade to a Georgian Suite. The extra space in the room was excellent, and the bathroom was lovely. Double sinks, large shower unit and roll top bath, with a HUGE bed, made for a very comfortable stay. The Scottish breakfast is worth a try, and apparently the evening meals are good too but we chose to eat out. The menu certainly looked appetising and they offered us 20% off if we chose to eat in. Reading the guest book it looks like many people choose to eat there who aren't hotel guests, and there were several people indulging in afternoon tea when we arrived. Spotted a couple of Groupon vouchers for this, so set your Groupon deal settings for Edinburgh before you book.
