"Lovely hotel, out of the way but close to Motorway"
Check in was great, we were offered breakfast at a reduced rate so asked receptionist to book it.
Had a swim in the pool, lots of families enjoying the water!
Decided to go for room service and they were more than happy to deliver an ice bucket and glasses for the wine we had bought ourselves. Food was fantastic. Chicken carbonara, best pasta dish I had ever had!
Breakfast - excellent selection. Though we were told we hadn't booked but it was ok, it was all the same cost anyway, even though we knew this wasn't true. I asked him to check this as I wasn't happy to pay extra when we had booked in on arrival. This was sorted straight away. Though the girl on reception mentioned that we should have booked on arrival to get the reduced rate, but she had charged it at that anyway. She didn't seem too pleased when I explained we had. A little rude about it all but nothing that spoilt our stay.
Although the hotel is large, it is pleasant and quiet. It can be used for wedding parties but the two running when we were there were not a problem. The gardens are delightful and adjacent to the various bar and restaurant facilities. Car parking is plentiful and apparently very safe.
There is quite some seating capacity in the different parts of the hotel. Never any sense of being cramped. It is easy to relax and escape or be anonymous.
The fitness suite and pool are very good especially the pool although the other facilities could be a little busy and maybe benefit from a slightly more frequent tidy up. Excellent pool and very warm as well as the roomy sauna and steam room.
The carvery restaurant is very reasonably priced and the menu good. Breakfast is excellent and delicous, all meals being taken in one of several charming dining rooms, some with garden views.
The surrounding area means a car is a good idea as you are in a small village although the hotel itself is outside and not immediately in the vicinity although it actually is right next to Keresley.
Pleasent stay think weather help .liked the key card system.think room prices a little high that's me comparing to a de vere hotels .staff nice and pleasant .must say have booked a return vist in a few weeks.keep up the good work.
I stayed here for a girls night off on Saturday night. From the moment I walked in to the hotel and was greeted with "you must be with the sisters" I felt right at home. We were a late walk in for afternoon tea - no problem at all and I have to say it was one of the best I have ever had. We had breakfast and lunch in the hotel - each time the food was excellent. The staff really do deserve a special mention - they were so helpful and friendly - a real credit. The hotel was full over the weekend with half marathon runners and a wedding but it never felt crowded or rowdy. They had live music in the lounge on Sunday lunchtime which was lovely. The rooms were very modern and clean. They were also very spacious. My only gripe was when we tried to order some room service it took about fifteen minutes for someone to answer the phone. When the chips did arrive (at a cost of £5.95 each) there were about 10 in each bowl. This was a bit of a mickey take when everything else seemed such good value. All in all, a wonderful stay.
It was what it said it was. The welcome was good, and overall everything was good. Only reason we gave 4 for the cleanliness was the desk/table in the bedroom was dusty (when I moved the menus) and the plant was dusty, but otherwise it was very clean. Nice touch with the (free) bottles of mineral water. The bathroom was immaculate. Would have been great to have ensuite but we were aware it was not when we booked (it was however private to us and only just along the landing). The breakfast was very good, with lots to choose from, and plenty of it. It was served quickly and efficiently, but not rushed. We would stay again for certain.
