“looking forward to going back for a 4th year in a row”

Started heading back to Birmingham 3 years ago for the xmas Quo gig, been stating in Jury's every time and don't think that will change. Always a friendly welcome, polite staff and security, rooms are very spacious and always very clean, nice bar with comfortable lounge, excellent breakfast every morning. The hotel is ideally situated close to the main shopping area and the German markets, roughly a 10 minute walk from New St station and in the centre of Broad streets nightlife. Highly recommended for pleasure trips and i'm sure for business trips.

Broad St, because its central to night life and a short walk to the shopping streets

When to go

I find Christmas time a great time to go to Birmingham, for myself I go for the xmas Quo gig in the LG Arena. It's a great place for xmas shopping with the Bullring and outdoor markets. Also the German markets are along the streets with all things German down to food and drink, nice to walk around in the cold, sipping a mulled wine or hot cider and taking in the German atmosphere.

“Expensive for quality”

“It's ok...”

Good for holding a function, but if you just want B&B then something like Premier Inn has better rooms and much better breakfast!

“Good Choice for short stay”

Limited facilities within the hotel mean that it would not be good choice for anything more than a 2 or 3 days stay. The absence of a gym, swimming pool and no fridge or safe in the rooms are a few of these limitations. Internet access is not free despite a claim to the contrary on some booking sites. On the positive side, I have stayed here many occasions when visiting Birmingham on business or attending conferences at the nearby ICC. Restaurant facilties are good with an excellent choice of breakfast and the bar remains open until 2:00 am. Suggest asking for a room on the south side of the hotel (ie facing the Travelodge) if you wish to sleep at night due to proximity of Broad Street bars

“Perfect Location”

Best location for a night out (or two) on Broad Street. Staff very helpful, even when I needed to change from a double to a twin room at reception upon arrival. First time I have had breakfast included at this hotel, having stayed there on nearly a dozen occasions previously, and didn't let me down. I thought it was going to be a basic continental breakfast, but turned out to be a fully cooked one. A very pleasant surprise.

“Good base for exploring Birmingham”

I always stay at Jury's when I come to Birmingham,convenient for Gas Street Basin with all it's restaurants .

Area recommendations

Gas Street Basin for restaurants and the Jewellery Quarter to see an older part of the city in contrast to the busy centre.

“Included free thrill ride”

Great stay at the hotel, room was comfortable and clean. Shower was over a narrow tub, and a safety rail on the wall made for less room, so was a little awkward to shower. We specifically picked the with breakfast option when booking, but the hotel had no record of this when we arrived, but we are not sure where the breakdown happened if it was expedia or the hotel. Staying at this hotel also included a free thrill-ride. The first elevator on the right hand side would frequently drop 3+ floors then stop itself. One time it dropped 8 floors then went back to the 12th floor - everyone got out and walked down.

Area recommendations

We'd heard a lot of comments, 'you don't want to go to Birmingham' etc, before we left but upon arrival we found it to be a very nice city. Great shopping and beautiful canals all within walking distance from the hotel. I would go to Birmingham if I was in the UK again.
