Blogger Picks: South Coast Bucket-And-Spade Hotels
“When kids come along, even the most die-hard travellers find themselves rediscovering the great British beach break. And when they’ve done it once, they tend to get hooked – because as well as being easy to reach and budget-friendly, our coastal resorts are just plain old fun. We asked a panel of family and travel bloggers to recommend family-friendly seaside hotels around England’s south coast and southwest, from North Cornwall to East Sussex…

Headland Hotel & Spa, Newquay
———————————-
Chosen by: Clare from Emmy’s Mummy
“We head to Cornwall every year without fail. It’s our family happy place. With so many beautiful beaches to visit there is no real need to spend extra money while on holiday… the kids are happy paddling in the sea rain or shine. This year we are heading to the Headland Hotel, which has been on our to do list for a very long time – especially seeing as Emmy’s favourite movie and book is the Witches. This is the hotel where the movie was filmed.”

Captains Club Hotel, Christchurch
————————————–
Chosen by: Tania from Larger Family Life
“Finding a hotel for more than the usual two or three people is usually quite a task, meaning we larger families often need to find alternatives. However, I love that the Captain’s Club Hotel seems to have everything covered for us and more! This hotel offers everything from a double room for two to a luxury suite which sleeps up to six (as well as rooms for guest groups every size in between) – with river views, no less. Not only that, there is also free parking, free Wi-Fi, breakfast included (with a half board option available), a full-service spa plus a spa tub, a laundry service and on-site bar and restaurant.
“Its location is perfect for a family beach holiday, with it being only four miles away from Bournemouth’s beautiful beaches, and there’s also plenty to see within a 15-minute walk of the hotel, including the Red House Museum and Gardens, Christchurch Priory, Christchurch Castle and Christchurch Harbour.”

Sands Resort Hotel and Spa, Newquay
—————————————–
Chosen by: Becky from Baby Budgeting
“Sands is the most family-friendly hotel we have ever stayed in. It has so much for children to do, from sports to kids clubs. But more than that, they also make kids feel really welcome. The hotel is beautifully furnished and the views from the spacious rooms are spectacular. You are so close to the most amazing beaches too, and parents and children will be equally delighted with all the hotel has to offer. Huge thumbs up.”

The Grand Hotel, Eastbourne
——————————–
Chosen by: Zoe from Juggling on Rollerskates
“The Grand Hotel is a family favourite of ours, largely due to the incredible attention to detail the hotel pays to their younger guests. As all parents know, happy kids means happy parents! A stone’s throw from Eastbourne’s main beach and in the shadow of the South Downs, the hotel has the perfect setting. For families it has gone above and beyond to make sure younger guests are made to feel welcome. Babies are provided with all the necessary accessories they may need to make packing that bit easier… plus they get their own rubber ducky for bath time!
“Bigger kids receive their own rucksack full of goodies, milk and cookies at bed time, their own robes and plenty of DVD and board game entertainment. Teens receive their own robes and toiletries, can have a PlayStation set up in their room and could even have their own teen spa treatments! All this plus kids teatime and OFSTED registered childcare. The perfect combination of the ultimate British seaside resort with high-end family-focused holiday accommodation!”
