Northeast Orlando Ski Holidays

Disappointing stay at Westgate Lakes Resort & Spa Two adult friends and I stayed at Westgate Lakes for five days. The resort worked for the trip we had planned, but several things made our stay much less comfortable than it should have been. At check-in, we were told not to worry about the distance from our building to the amenities because transportation would always be available. In practice, we waited for the shuttle several times and it never came. We ended up making the 15–20 minute walk multiple times a day, which was especially difficult for one of my friends, who needs hip surgery. We managed to catch a golf cart twice, and that was helpful, but reliable transportation would have made a real difference. The adults-only pool was closest to our building, yet it had no towel service, the nearby bar was closed, and we had to leave the pool area to find a bathroom. We had not been told to bring towels from our room. Meanwhile, the bar at the family pool was open. Our room also had maintenance and cleanliness issues. The washer filled with water but would not agitate or clean our clothes. A repairman helped us take them to the resort’s laundry facility, which we appreciated, though it was inconvenient. The drapes by the sliding glass door were visibly filthy. We also learned only after arriving that the water park and lazy river cost extra per person, per day. That should have been clear when we booked. The resort is very large, but getting around it was difficult.

La verdad estaba muy bueno

The staff was wonderful & very helpful. I really enjoyed the location. It's near Sea World, Downtown Disney and close enough to Universal areas. Walkable area for nice walks and good food spots to walk too. The 4th floor smells musty and feels damp. The room was the same way by the second day and the tub holds water while taking a shower. The king room was really spacious and nice. However, the smell was very unacceptable.

First impressions were great. The suite was huge! The Tavern was awesome, and management resolved concerns promptly. Its a bonus to have access to a fridge and microwave. The coffee makers were nice for making mini coffees. The only suggestion I'd have is to adjust the doors to not slam so loudly! I'd stay here again!
