​Overall, this is an upscale hotel with many positive features, including beautiful pools, well-appointed rooms, and well-trained, friendly, attentive reception staff. However, several drawbacks impacted our stay. ​The resort is built on a steep hillside, meaning you either need a buggy to get around or must navigate dozens of stairs and steep inclines. Since we visited during the off-season, both main bars were closed (which Expedia failed to disclose), the lobby was undergoing renovation (causing localized noise), and our room suffered from poor Wi-Fi and no in room phone connection to the lobby . Additionally, major construction right next to the hotel woke us up most mornings and was clearly audible from the pool. ​Dining service was disappointing for a 5-star property. The restaurant staff were very young, unfamiliar with the menu, and frequently got our orders wrong. Thefood was relatively good tthough​We originally booked a family suite to stay together with our kids. The hotel offered to move us closer to the pool and restaurant into rooms with small private plunge pools, but this meant splitting our family into separate rooms—a decision I regret, though packing up to move back felt like too much hassle. ​Most frustratingly, Expedia gave us no prior warning about the ongoing construction, renovations, or closed facilities. When contacted, their customer service took no responsibility and deflected everything onto the hotel. I will not be booking through Expedia again.

Kalima Resort & Spa is an excellent choice if you want to be close to Patong while still enjoying a peaceful setting away from the intensity and noise of the main area. The location offered the best of both worlds: easy access to Patong, without feeling immersed in the chaos. This was my second stay in a Junior Suite, and I was again extremely impressed with the layout, comfort and balcony view. The room felt spacious and thoughtfully designed, making it a particularly enjoyable place to relax. Breakfast was another highlight, with an extensive variety of options to suit different tastes. The shuttle service to and from Patong centre, running every two hours, was very convenient and made getting around simple. I also appreciated the newly added Executive Lounge, which was a thoughtful amenity and an ideal place to spend time while waiting, particularly during check-in or check-out. The updated resort app was an excellent companion throughout my stay. It made it easy to see what was happening, keep track of activities and book services across the resort. The staff at every level were outstanding, friendly, attentive and professional. A special mention must go to Omi, who exceeded my expectations during my stay in 2024 and once again made my 2026 visit especially memorable. Whenever I travel to Phuket Patong area, Kalima Resort & Spa will be my first choice. I would be delighted to stay here again.
