Me and my husband stayed at the JW in Phuket for my birthday. The resort is absolutely gorgeous. Unfortunately, because of COVID, many amenities of the resort and island were suspended by the Thai government (including alcohol service). However, we purchased wine from a local store and engaged in excursions that are open to the general public. Note: You can order alcohol through room service but it costs more.
Things we loved:
The location: simply breathtaking
Room: It was big, well-furnished, had a beautiful view, and was super clean
Food: Tasty and generously portioned
Service: This is probably the best part for us. EVERYONE was pleasant, helpful, and accommodating. From the front desk/concierge to the workers cleaning the pools and grounds, they were absolutely some of the nicest people I’ve ever met. And, the 1st class service did not just start when we arrived. Bee and Jum went above and beyond to work with my reservation, especially as it pertained to making sure that all requirements for the Sandbox program were met in a timely fashion. It was rather frustrating trying to get everything prepared to travel internationally, but they found different ways to help us.
What we didn’t like:
Room: Moldy/mildew smell that seemed to get worse at night.
Night Entertainment: There was nothing going on in the resort after 8p other than movie night.
Overall, great trip and we’ll visit this resort again!
