"Excellent hotel,staff couldn't do enough for you. Spotlessly clean ,breakfast brilliant. Had a very enjoyable stay. Only slight downside 15mins walk to centre, enjoyable going down but all uphill on return."

"A brief stay on a journey north. The room was the standard I would expect for the price, although I found my single bed less comfortable than most. Breakfast, however, was excellent with really good sausages!"

"Everything was great except the food i tried the lamb rump which was served extremely rare with peapods, green beans and mashed potatoes Lamb was very chewy to the point I couldnt eat it and peapods (not a great choice) were overcooked. Location is not near Dumfries which I had not noticed when booking Breakfast was ok but sausage undercooked."

"Beautiful hotel. Very picturesque area. Lots of places to explore and ramble. Sofia at front desk was wonderful. Breakfast was amazing. Highly recommend."

"Stayed with my partner and infant daughter. Rooms were well set up (although shower a bit dated). Staff and restaurants were amazing (and super helpful). Highly recommend"
THE ROADHOUSE

"The room was a good size for a single room with en-suite. The decor was tired but ok. The room was clean except for several stains on the carpet which some good carpet cleaner ought to be able to sort out. I got the room for a reduced price on Hotels.com so it was acceptable value for money. I would not have said that if I had paid the full price."
