We stayed at the Palazzo Talia for one night at the end of our honeymoon travelling the Mediterranean. After a long few weeks we were exhausted, especially given the hot weather of bustling Rome. Upon entering the hotel we were greeted by the calming and professional staff who immediately made us feel at home. Which was exactly what we needed. Even within the hotel courtyard, the lively noises of Rome seemed to just fade away.

Very impressed with this hotel. The staff were extremely attentive and we were upgraded to a suite on check in. The spa facilities were excellent, this needs to be booked in advance but you are offered exclusivity of the pool and spa area. The breakfast was very good too. Overall would definitely recommend this hotel.

Absolutely loved this gem of a hotel - a great neighbourhood, lovely staff, clean and practical rooms, it was so wonderful to have a pool on site too.
Brilliant location away from the hustle and bustle but walkable to all sights. I cannot recommend it enough and would definitely stay again.

We had a Colosseum view room which really impressed. The hotel had all the facilities we needed and the choice for breakfast was excellent. The hotel itself is in a great location and was so easy to get around using public transport and by foot.

This hotel is unique, I mean stunning unique.
The main breakfast hall is amazing, you just cannot stop looking around at all the statues and paintings. Easy 5 stars.

We found the Westin Excelsior to be clean, cool with an old school glamorous feel. Our rooms were fabulous, spacious, with plenty of wardrobe storage and room to move around without feeling cramped in. The bathroom was clean and well stocked with fluffy towels and toiletries. We found the staff to be friendly and very helpful. The complimentary cup of tea or coffee sent to the room each day is a really nice touch. All in all, a really lovely hotel in a great, convenient location.

The location of the hotel was incredible, right beside the Colosseum and it provided us with a fantastic base to explore the city.
We had booked the double suite as it was on offer - the description of the room was a suite in an annex building, which I felt was a little deceiving because it's actually an apartment within an apartment block.
Having said that, the apartment was spacious and lovely, and our sheets etc. were changed every day as you'd expect. But I think it's important to know...

Having traveled the world I can say that this hotel should certainly be ranked as one of the best, since it is 5* in every category. It is just north of the Villa Borghese in a peaceful setting close to the park so the sense of being removed from the bustle of the city noise and traffic is essential for a relaxing stay. It is not close to public transport but there is a free shuttle to the Via Veneto and the bus/metro system. The rooms are luxurious, and it has the best Spa in Rome that is...

Decided to go to `Rome for husband's birthday. Usually I find most Rome hotels pretty average but this was a great treat. The staff were charing and warmhearted and sincerely wanted to please. The room to book is 231, which has lovely views over the garden. The location is perfect, close to everything. Have apertivi in the garden, they serve all sorts of yummy nibbles. Prices ( especially for breakfast) are steep but the quality is excellent. There is no charge to use the wonderful spa and...

This was our second stay in Gran Melia, and honestly we normally aim for a less highly ranked option. But our plane ticket offered a package and when I saw that Gran Melia was an option, I couldn't resist. Stunning hotel in a perfect location for experiencing everything Rome has to offer. We walked, and distances are short, but they also have a shuttle to the fancier shopping area and you can get a taxi in seconds. We stayed at the Aldrovandi Residence for seven nights from the 3rd to the 10th December. We found it very comfortable with excellent beds, well appointed rooms, a good breakfast, and terrific staff. The hotel is situated on a main tram route so you can catch a number 19 tram down to Risorgimento, right by the Vatican for €1.5. This €1.5 fare will get you to all sorts of places within the city. Stay at the Aldrovandi and you don't need taxis. There is a computer and a printer available for...
