"Great Room, few complaints!"
This hotel was located in a great place in Rome. It's surrounded by all of the shopping and thus near all the hustle and bustle. The hotel itself was very tiny, but nice. The woman we met at reception was friendly and very helpful. I would worn future travelers that like other boutique hotels in Italy this one is not very obvious. When you approach the entrance you have to ring the intercom up to the hotel to ask to be let in. The elevator was tiny, we could only fit one person with both pieces of luggage in at a time. When we left in the morning the elevator wasn't operating so we had to carry our luggage down 3-4 flights of stairs which was less than ideal. My only real complaint about the hotel was that they didn't have 24-hour reception. They did have someone you could call at any time who could be there in 5 minutes which was great. But we had a shuttle that was picking us up at 7:30AM when no one was at reception. This meant we left the building with no way to get back in to wait for the shuttle outside. In doing so we cut any potential access to a phone. So when our shuttle didn't show up we had no way to contact the service because we didn't have international calling available on our phones. We ended up having to pay for a cab to get to the airport and foregoing the fees we paid for the shuttle.

"Wonderful boutique hotel, good location, modern."
We stayed four nights at this hotel in mid-August, 2016. The large room was very modern and had automated window shutters and sufficient closet and storage space for clothing. The air conditioning system was excellent, as was the hot shower/tub and firm, king bed. The breakfast buffet was excellent with a wide variety of items to please everyone. Location was convenient to walking to major monuments in the Historic/Ancient Center area. Also, a grocery store was located 5 minutes away by foot, enabling us to easily purchase snacks and wine for the room. I did not visit the rooftop restaurant (although next time I will), as there were too many things to see and do in Rome in 4 days. A taxi to the airport was a fixed-rate of 48 Euros, the hotel staff called a taxi for us on our departure day and it arrived in 4 minutes. Definitely would stay here again.

"Nice Hotel close to the Colosseum and attractions"
I really enjoyed my stay at this location. The staff was extremely nice and helpful. Regardless of what we needed or what question we posed to them they offered a solution immediately. They really went out of their way to assist us. I was extremely pleased with the staff. The room was larger than I had expected and it was comfortable and clean. We had a lovely view of the city and overall the hotel was really quiet. I can't say enough about the location of the hotel as it was perfect. We were within walking distance to the Colosseum and you could see it perfectly from the street. We were close to the metro and our tour guide told us that the area was one of the best in Italy. The restaurants around the corner were all amazing. The bar across the street was a great little hangout after a long day of walking around the city. The breakfast at the hotel was really good as well. So I can't say enough good things about this hotel. The only negative that I have is that the elevator didn't go all the way up to our floor. So you will need to tackle the stairs but thankfully the staff carried our luggage up for us. Also, beware of the taxi drivers. They will definitely try to scam you on the fares. On average the most you should pay for a taxi is from $6 to $9. However we caught our taxi taking a longer route and he actually looped the hotel once to increase the fare. We reported him to the hotel staff so they could file a complaint.

"Fantastic."
Fantastic hotel. Perfect location. Staff out of this world. Room one of the best I have stayed in - entire hotel is absolutely beautiful. Breakfast was superb. Just round the corner from the colosseum, Trevi fountain and piazza barberini. Even the pantheon was just a 10/15 minute walk. Staff were an absolute credit to the hotel. Nothing too much trouble. Extremely helpful. Totally professional. Couldn't recommend this place more.

"Treated like family."
I wanted to thank you and your resort staff for the sincere welcome and hospitality that was afforded to us during our stay at your resort. We had the fabulous and elegantly laid out room 202. We had the pleasure of your excellent Red Glove Service. We arrived on Wednesday, June 29. As we entered the Gran Melia residence, we were welcomed by your Red Glove representative, Sylvia Farano. Sylvia was the first person we interacted with in Rome. For me, first impressions are everything in the hospitality business. Sylvia treated us with kindness, attentiveness and most importantly respect. The airline had misplaced my luggage. Sylvia was able to assist us in retrieving my luggage by the next day. Right then and there, we knew we were in excellent hands. Sylvia helped us with our tours, offered plenty of suggestions and directions. What was most impressive was that she had always asked us how our day of sightseeing was or how our dinners in central Rome was. She always remembered. There was a couple of days that she was not working and needless to say we missed her. The rest of your staff was equally helpful. When she returned to work, it was like seeing a family member. My family and I met you Ana in the lounge. You had asked us how we were and if there was anything you can do for us. You have no idea how that makes a traveler feel when you are so welcoming. We came to Rome to sight see, eat the food and learn your history. But, what I will remember forever are the wonderful

"Great Boutique hotel in the heart of Rome"
This was our second trip to Rome and stayed at the hotel for the second time. Great hotel!! Very friendly staff, great rooms and large in European standards. The only negative is that it's at the top of the hill above the Spanish Steps and it's a walk but it's a good way to walk off your meal!!
