Rome is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world, and once you’ve spent some time there it’s not hard to see why. As well as being home to some of the most famous landmarks and monuments on the planet, it’s also a hotspot for fine dining, luxury hotels, shopping and entertainment.
If there’s one thing Rome is famous for, it’s the history. You can brush up on your Latin at the Colosseum and Trajan’s Market, visit the First World War Memorial at the Vittorio Emanuele Monument, and plunge into the world of the Italian Renaissance by touring the stunning artworks at the city’s many churches and galleries. And of course, no stay in Rome would be complete without a visit to the Vatican.
For the ultimate Roman experience, book yourself into one of the city’s historic hotels. You’ll find lots of accommodation options around the city, including some locations that have been built inside stunning, centuries-old buildings. Best of all, a stay in a historic building doesn’t have to break the bank – do your research using Expedia’s handy search tool, and you’ll be able to find your perfect hotel at the best price.
