If there’s one downside to visiting Rome, it’s that you’ll find there’s too much to do! No trip would be complete without a tour of top sightseeing spots such as the Colosseum, the Vatican City, the Pantheon and the Trevi Fountain, but there are also countless art galleries, museums, churches, markets and entertainment venues to explore.
Rome is possibly most famous for its architecture, but it’s also a city full of stunning natural areas. Top activities for nature-lovers include visiting the grounds of the Villa Borghese, cycling through the expansive Caffarella Park and wandering through the city’s botanical gardens at Orto Botanico. There’s also a large natural reserve just south of Rome, the Regional Park of Decima-Malafede, which is notable for being home to hundreds of different plant species.
If you’re environmentally conscious, you can make your stay in Rome fun, relaxing and eco-friendly by booking yourself into a green/sustainable hotel using the handy Expedia search tool.
