Majestic Hotel Eastbourne by Belvilla

10/10 Excellent
"Had a good nights stay, the staff were friendly and helpful, the building is a little old and very quiet downstairs. However the room was as expected for the price, also there is free parking outside after 6pm until 8am, so that was extra helpful. A simple cheap nights stay, comfy bed, nice views, and was up and out the next day."

"Good stay but the air con in the room kept rattling waking me up. Reported this in the morning and was told maintenance would look at it, when I got back the rattle still occurred. Went back to reception who again said it had been logged and the offered a change of room but to a lower grade room as no others where available. Staff where helpful and I believe did what they could but when your room is downgraded because of an issue with your existing room it’s is a little disappointing"

The Lookout Rye

The Lookout Rye

8/10 Good
"I would love to give this hotel a 10/10 but regretably the cleanliness I experienced during my stay really let it down. I felt I wanted to give my room a good scrub...surfaces very dusty and dirty (coasters provided to stop stains would help) Decorative cushions on bed were stained and needed replacing. Bathroom was clean but there was no ventillation. Window was sealed up so it smelt very unpleasant upon arrival and most of the 4 nights I stayed. Decor generally was tierd and needed updating/improving. The landing and stairs also needed attention... carpet very worn and not vacuumed during my five day stay. Banisters were dirty. On a positive note, the room size was great with a lovely view. Bed very comfy and some nice touches with lamps and a coffee table and armchairs. Staff were brilliant...very friendly and nothing too much trouble. Breakfast great. Fresh and plentiful. Improve on the cleaning and updating and this hotel would be fab."

The Grand Hotel Eastbourne

The Grand Hotel Eastbourne

8/10 Good
"The Grand Hotel is a long-established, traditional hotel with a distinctly classic look and feel. The aesthetic is not quite my personal preference, but I had a good stay and was particularly impressed by the service. I emailed the hotel before arriving and received a prompt and helpful response. My room was spacious, with generous wardrobe space, a safe, a Nespresso machine with pods, two complimentary bottles of water and bespoke bathroom amenities. Service throughout my stay was excellent. Rita and Sylvia at reception were both extremely helpful, as was the valet team. Room service occasionally took a few attempts to reach, but once through, they were attentive and the food arrived promptly. I also overslept one morning and nearly missed breakfast. They kindly arranged a tray and brought it to my room. The food was consistently excellent. The hotel has a beautiful seafront setting, especially on a clear day and the lounge and afternoon tea are clearly popular with local guests. If you favour traditional grand hotels, classic interiors and attentive service, The Grand should suit you well. For me, the quality of the service was what made the stay."
