"It’s an 800 year old building and the floors are uneven and the stairs are whacky, but there is so much charm, it’s part of the experience. Staff was super friendly and the morning breakfast a great start to the day."

"We were only looking for a quick over-night stay before attending an event at Thruxton Circuit, but got so much more. This hotel has been beautifully and sympathetically been refurbished to retain its historic charm but with some contemporary twists on its decor. The staff were multi-tasking but very efficient and friendly, and being local provided some interesting background. We had a very pleasant meal - the food is very reasonably priced - in the hotel restaurant. Room was very comfortable, with quite a few nice touches - radio was on when we arrived; nespresso coffee maker and motion lights in bathroom. Our only regret we were up and away at 6am so no time for breakfast!"

"The hotel is lovely. The room was really clean and the hotel smelled lovely as we walked in. Love the way you acquire your key as it's so simple. Great location and only have positive things to say about it. I met the owner on my way out this morning and she was lovely too. I'll definitely be going back to stay."

"The room was clean with a very comfortable bed and the location was perfect - walking distance to town and quiet. The breakfast included hot items off a menu and a self-serve breakfast bar, more than I could eat. The managers were friendly and helpful. A good value. I will definitely stay here again the next time I am in Frome."

"Lovely hotel tucked away in the countryside. My room was a lovely size and nicely equipped. The evening meal menu wasn't vast, but the food on offer was amazing (well what I ordered was)!"

"The hotel is conveniently situated in central Salisbury. The rooms are clean and comfortable but not easily accessible for the infirm . I did not eat there as there was a wedding and the kitchen was closed."

"We were attending a wedding at the hotel and on the day the electricity went off. It was completely out of the hands of the hotel but the staff worked tirelessly to ensure the wedding reception could go ahead. There was no power from 6am until late into the evening but somehow they kept everything on track and the event was a huge success. How they managed to serve such high quality food under the circumstances I don’t know. I’m sure they were all exhausted by the end of the day, but thank you for all your efforts!!"
