The Cornwall Hotel Spa & Estate

The Cornwall Hotel Spa & Estate

8/10 Good
"We really enjoyed our stay here. The only downside was the condition of the tennis courts. We specifically looked for a hotel with a tennis court and the photos on the website looked great. Unfortunately the courts seem to have been neglected. Only one had a net and the surface was really not safe to play on. I think the misleading photos need removing from the website, or the courts need attention. Other than that we had a great stay. The gym and pool areas are great."

Frequently asked questions

Which area of St Germans is best to stay in for cheap hotels?
Finding cheap hotels directly within St Germans itself can be challenging, as it's a smaller village without a large selection of budget accommodation. Instead, for affordable options, solo travellers should focus on nearby towns like Saltash or even Plymouth, which offer more variety and better value.Saltash, just a short train or bus ride away, provides a number of guesthouses and smaller hotels that are generally more affordable than staying in a major city. Solo travellers will find it easy to connect to St Germans via public transport, and Saltash itself offers scenic views of the River Tamar and Brunel's iconic bridge. For the widest range of budget-friendly hotels and hostels, Plymouth is your best bet. While it's a bit further, the city is well-connected by train to St Germans, making day trips straightforward. Plymouth boasts a vibrant city centre with numerous affordable lodging choices, and solo travellers can enjoy its historic Barbican area, Hoe, and various free museums.

Many of the local guesthouses and B&Bs may have reduced rates, and while some smaller attractions might have limited opening hours, the natural beauty of the surrounding Cornish countryside remains accessible and free to explore. Is St Germans a budget-friendly destination?

The village itself, with its historic church and quaint streets, is lovely for a stroll without spending a penny.
