Kyo Anthu Inn made my stay in Kyoto feel just like home. The three of us could not ask for anything more from the lovely family that runs the inn. Emiko, thank you so much for everything that you did for us, we hope to see you again soon.

Loved the location of being nearer the old side of Kyoto. Spacious lobby was lovely along with rooftop bar. Balance between sympathetic design and modern luxury. Breakfast was excellent and very varied to others we had in Japan. Room was good and a generous size. Ground floor didn’t have much light but that was okay as we were out all day. The place to go if you want the feel of Ryokan but want the modern amenities. Each room is gorgeous, and so well thought down to the tiniest detail. Would put it at the level of the Four Seasons or Park Hyatt. The wooden gated entry to every room, with its own rock garden makes it feel like you are coming home. The welcome locally made sweets and tea/cold towels at check in are some of the touches that make the place special. The only downside is the lack of a proper gym.

What a fabulous hotel! The staff literally couldn't do enough for you! Only 19 rooms so truly felt like a personalised stay. Absolutely wonderful

This is a really nice hotel. Well run with excellent staff. The only thing I’d say for first timers is to be aware that you are about a 25 mins walk from Gion. This is fine but becomes tiresome. The only other thing that was a slight issue was that the air con in our room was very noisy. Again not a big deal but irritating as it switches on and off all night. But otherwise it is a really nice hotel.

Had Japanese breakfast which was very tasty. Staff were extremely helpful and polite. Room was comfy. Location great.

I had an amazing experience here. The staff were very friendly and gave me a small tour of the hotel with some facts about its history, and the room was very spacious and comfortable. It’s an experience unto itself, so I stayed within the hotel most of the time for the night that I was there. Would recommend to everyone and would definitely stay again.

One of the best hotels we have ever stayed. Staff extremely helpful and attentive. Hotel is spotless with all the amenities you could think off. Would absolutely recommend to everyone. Hotel is walking distance to Kyoto train station and shopping places.

The Abita is a boutique type hotel in a central but relatively quiet location in Kyoto. The room amenities and fittings were top rated with nice artwork touches. The staff and systems showed good management and effort to assist the guests stay. The location was good, easy walk to local subway station and further walk/subway ride to restaurants/nightlife and daytime sightseeing activity. Highly recommended for above average hotel stay in Kyoto.

Very clean and convenient hotel. The room was spacious and the facilities excellent. Breakfast at the hotel was good and all the staff were friendly and helpful. There’s plenty of good restaurants and dining options nearby as well.

Very modern Japanese aesthetic with traditional service. Very hard to fault, very helpful staff, great food choices and extraordinarily clean.

It was a luxurious and beautiful hotel. Staff were really friendly and helpful. The food and drinks were excellent and some of it was fantastic, The art deco was very nice and pretty. Had all the amenities you’d need. Beautiful marble bathroom with a deep bath. However the only thing I was disappointed by was you can’t order fries or a burger on the in room dining night menu. Friendly staff and amazing location

Check in was easy, we upgraded our rooms and were shown other rooms we could change to. Very clean all looks new. Free coffees, teas, soft drinks and ice lollies all day. Breakfast available too but had a selection of cereal, mixed fruit, croissants, bread and a pancake maker. Also had scrambled eggs, sausages. Everyone was friendly and helpful.

Hotel staff were so friendly and nice to us all, with the limited english skills they had they still made conversation with us and were always smiling and helping us out. The breakfasts were delicious, an amazing sample of traditional Japanese cuisine. Unfortunately we weren’t able to experience their dinner since we did not book three days in advance but I’m sure it would have been just as nice.
