The staff were absolutely wonderful: warm, friendly, and so helpful. Great location for a couple of nights, as it is close to the Kyoto National Museum and Sanjusangendo temple. The staff were welcoming, kind and wanted to ensure we had a great a great stay. Breakfast was exceptional! We had the most incredible and delicious traditional breakfasts. A highlight of our stay! While I loved our room and the incredible bathtub it offered, the one negative for me was a musty odor in the room (I am sensitive to smell). A very soothing bedroom, beautifully designed with its own onsen bath. Lots of thoughtful and generous touches, without being over the top. (No outside view because windows are screened, but that added to the sense of serenity.) The bath was a wonderful way to end the day. Superb location, not far from Gijon and the sights to the east of Kyoto, in a lovely quiet area. Best of all are the staff. They are outstandingly helpful, thoughtful and kind. They also came up with eating recommendations and were immensely friendly and useful when I had a problem affecting onward travel. A great team!
