Our nights at the Hedistar Nijo were the best sleep I've had in Japan! The beds were sooo comfortable! It was so CLEAN ✨ (and this is coming from a very allergic person with sensitive skin) I was sad to leave!! I also loved the quiet, bookstore feel of the lobby, and had my morning coffee in there a few times (I did not find the in-house coffee that great, but I always had it late in the morning and they probably brew it at 6-7 AM). A great amenity at this hotel is the in-house laundry room, but be aware that the machines only wash in warm water and dry at scorching heat. So ideally avoid washing delicates in these machines. Otherwise, it was a great help to have washing machines easily accessible. There is a nearby covered street with many little shops and restaurants, and you will also have an option for another paid Laundromat in there. Finally, this hotel is very well situated to take the bus, as well as within walking distance of Kyoto's amazing historic site of Nijo Castle. If you prefer to travel by train, you will have a good 10-15 minutes walk to the nearest train station. Overall, this hotel has been a great experience! Highly recommended especially for my fellow allergy sufferers!

The staff are great and completely foreigner friendly. The beds are comfy and the bathroom is amazing! They have a variety of bathroom amenities for you to use if packing light. 10 minute taxi from Kyoto station & a load of shops within a 30 second walk.
