"The Imperial Hotel is in an excellent position. It is clean and the staff were all helpful. We had a standard room which had a comfortable bed, the bathroom was a disappointment and needs an up Grade. Parking was charged at £6 a night."

"A lovely room and good ensuit. Bed very comfortable. Lovely, relaxed surroundings Staff very welcoming but not familiar. Breakfasts very good. You can have as much as you want just tell them when they take your order. For example, 2 fried eggs, 1/2 sausage etc. Coffee very good and they even do decaffeinated filter coffee. Ask for cream if you want it. I would definitely recommend. They welcome dogs too"

"The room was fairly clean although furniture has seen better days. Seafront views are spectacular. Hotel is a 10 minute walk to city centre which is nice if you want to try various places to eat, also there is a nice south west coast trail near by if you fancy a nice walk. The stay was relatively lovely although I would like to stay in other places with a seafront view if I’m to visit Torquay again"

"The hotel is only about a year old so the building and all the fittings and furniture are in as-new condition. The staff were all cheerful and a delight to work with. The food was good both breakfast and the evening meals. The location right on the foreshore is attractive with lovely views of the sunrise but it is well away from the centre of Torquay. When I arrived Google maps had the location 300 metres too close to the main part of Torquay so you need to check this before setting a route."

"The room was a good size, with everything you need. It was a bit tired with the carpet threadbare in places and the bathroom needing a deep clean, paint and fresh mastic. The food in the restaurant was reasonable, but the service was slow and it was clear they were understaffed and getting things wrong."
