"A fantastic traditional hotel, set back from the beach and road, so really quiet. My room was light and airy despite the heat this summer. Super views and lovely pool outdoors. Enjoyed the restaurant for breakfast and one evening meal. Dining is quite formal so visitors need to be aware of that. It is an expensive choice in Sidmouth - but a real treat to stay here."

The Grand Hotel

The Grand Hotel

10/10 Excellent
"I stayed at the Grand as I wanted to experience an old English style seaside holiday, I was not disappointed. I arrived by train and it was steps away from the station, only a short walk to the beach, shops and alternative places to eat. I Had two dinners in the restaurant, overlooking the sea which were both lovely. All the staff I met were helpful and friendly. The Hotel is full of old style charm and you just wouldn't get that in a new property so it is a unique place to stay and I would definitely return."

Harbour Hotel Sidmouth

Harbour Hotel Sidmouth

10/10 Excellent
"Our room no. 12 was quite small but had a large shared decking area with views of the coastline and we sat out there with drinks before venturing out. The decking needs attention with several areas having loose boards and some raised areas. Both of which are safety issues. The room was warm but we had a excellent oscillating fan. The hotel service and staff are excellent and we had a lovely meal in the restaurant on our second evening with views of the sea. We ate at Roma Italian the first evening, which was nice. We used the bar area at times and the terrace and also the outdoor swimming pool one afternoon. Everywhere was quiet and relaxing and we were so lucky with the weather too! Sidmouth is a lovely town and we visited the various gardens and views and walked alongside the river Sid on a circular walk. We explored every corner of Sidmouth! The Salcombe Tap House, (for a beer or wine facing the sea, right at the far east end of the seafront), was very nice as was the beer and wine. You can have a taster first to see what beer you like best, a nice touch! Lovely staff too... Thank you to all at the Harbour Hotel for looking after us so well for our 2 nights stay before heading off to Cornwall and the Eden Project. Rob & Sally Gill"
