Having been to the bar area for years I was really looking forward to staying in one of the rooms. The room was very nice, very spacious with large wardrobe and kettle with tea and coffee. The huge bed was so comfy, in fact the rooms couldn't be any better. The bathroom was lovely and spacious too with a great powerful hot shower, and the towels were beautiful. Lovely breakfast with excellent choice to cover everyone's needs. Couple of the staff were miserable as sin and let the others...

It's a nice pub that is part of the Thwaites chain. Menu doesn't cater well for Vegetarians and not at all for Vegans. Disappointing to see them burning coal on the fire in July, really thoughtless. Room was lovely though

We had a really enjoyable stay! The hotel staff went over and above to help us and give great service. I would 100% recommend this hotel. Rooms were clean, huge bathrooms and seriously comfy beds.

An excellent inn/accommodation with good food and reasonable prices. An old inn, much extend and beautifully decorated. Room are in the pub and 2 outside buildings. Only issue I would have is parking and access. . The site rises to the rear, both to the parking and the outside buildings. I use a walking stick and could just about manage the slopes and the stairs but severe walkers or wheel chair users would not. There is disabled parking (and electric charge points) availed. Good location for the National Park and good food.

Country hotel set in beautiful grounds, but modern and comfortable inside, friendly helpful staff and delicious food made for a relaxing short break. This was made even more special by a large delightful room and the most comfortable bed I have ever slept on.

Lovely little place. Very quite also. Wish the pub was open for drinks at any time but but not your typical pub. Food there was lovely though! Especially the sea bass. Walk in shower was amazing! Great if you need an accessible rooms

We really enjoyed our stay in this beautiful place. Lovely, helpful staff, comfortable, clean rooms and a hearty breakfast. What more could you ask for?

Very friendly staff, nice big room (called falow), excellent breakfast, excellent evening meal staff very helpful sorting out a taxi for us, the room was warm due to heatwave so needed to keep windows open so we did notice some noise from the kitchen fans but this could not be helped. Very good car parking. Overall an excellent 2 day visit and would highly recommend.

Best hotel I’ve ever stayed in by far , they couldn’t co enough for us and the rooms and place are absoluxley (see what I did there) amazing . We got engaged and they helped . Will deffo be returning

It wasn't easy to find - thank goodness for the satnav! - but it was certainly worth finding. Set in tranquil countryside with not a street light in sight, this hotel is a haven from the frantic world. Had an incredible stay here. The house and surrounding area are stunningly beautiful, and the rooms are very cosy. Loved the amenities provided and the staff were wonderful, down to earth and happy to help with whatever you needed. We booked a room with a conservatory and had an amazing time watching the bats fly in and out of the tree next door. Breakfast was wonderful, as was the dinner service. I can see why you have so many regular guests!

What a lovely welcoming hotel in the centre of the village. Our dog had his own special treat on arrival of Posh dog wine. This made us all smile. I had let them know it was are anniversary and we also had a lovely surprise in our room. But oh my goodness the food it phenomenal from breakfast to lunch and then dinner WoW! Thank you for making our stay so lovely. We will be back
