"We stayed in a superior double and it was perfect. Every member of staff we met was friendly and helpful. Although there was some traffic noise the room was huge and the bed very comfortable meaning a good night's sleep was had. The bathroom was large and everything worked well. Breakfast was excellent, a good choice for continental breakfast and cooked food to order. Lovely stay all round."

"The Lighthorseman was perfect for our requirements and although elements of our room could have done with a little updating it still had everything we needed. The price was reasonable and location was perfect for the York Barbican and City Centre. We paid the £12.50 each for breakfast and I must say it was probably one of the best cooked breakfasts that I’ve ever had and the black pudding was to die for. Would highly recommend."
