"The bedrooms were lovely and had two windows so light and airy especially in the heat."

"The Mercure Hotel in Hull is a lovely old building with decent parking and a nice, spacious entrance hall. The staff were friendly, and breakfast was okay. There were clearly lots of functions taking place, which gave the hotel a busy atmosphere, but thankfully we could not hear any of this from our room. The room itself was a good size, but very basic. To be fair, the price does reflect that; however, the room was not very well maintained. The property is clearly old and now needs proper renovation. For example, the towel rail fell off when I put a towel on it, the toilet did not match the rest of the bathroom suite, and the tiles in the bathroom were cracked. It felt like parts of the room had been cheaply refurbished rather than properly improved. The bed was squeaky, the TV was tiny, and the coffee facilities were very basic. Overall, it should probably be marketed more clearly as a budget hotel. That said, it has real potential. With some investment, better maintenance and a more thoughtful refurbishment, it could be so much more. It was obviously a busy hotel, which is a good sign, but it could definitely be better."

"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and evening meal at the Beverley Arms Hotel. The staff that served us were extremely helpful food was delicious. . The room was beautiful clean and very spacious with air conditioning. We had dressing gown, slippers, coffee machine and a lovely touch a small box of chocs. An amazing breakfast the next day with a good choice to choose from the menu."

"Parking was good, right outside our room. Staff were very friendly and nice. There was a good choice for breakfast of cooked and cereal. The room was clean, did notice a couple of spiders, one small one in the bath which was easily washed down the bath and one above the wardrobe storage, which didn't cause any problems. The light in the mirror one side had dimmed. Very central to York 1/2 and hour and 1 hour from Bridlington. There is a manned bar, but on Wednesday night it wasn't open which was a disappointment. They only serve breakfast now, and the sign on the motel says that it has a restaurant which is incorrect. Based based right on a main road, traffic can only be heard first thing in the morning."
