"A lovely little cabin by a lake at the back of the owner's house (great distance between. Felt secluded and peaceful. Was great waking up and feeding the chickens, guinea fowl, geese and ducks with a cup of tea looking at the lake. A great spot to unplug and relax. Fully equipped with a fridge/freezer, central heating, cooker, kettle etc. a few more utensils would be handy. Highly recommend a stay here and the owners, Amanda and Barry are friendly, helpful and good folk."

"The cottage was gorgeous, in a lovely quiet location and parking at the back. It was spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated. We only stayed a night but it had almost everything you'd need for a stay. A bit of soap in the bathroom and teatowel/towel and washing up liquid in the kitchen with some milk for a cuppa when you arrive would have made it perfect. "We spent two nights at Loftsome Bridge House whilst we attended a wedding nearby. It is a short distance from the M62 but the setting is totally rural and peaceful. We stayed in one of the cottages which was comfortable, had all of the amenities (iron, ironing board, fan,hairdryer etc). Breakfast had a good choice and was a feast if you wanted. Finally, the staff are so welcoming and friendly. We would definitely go back"

"Booked a double-double room for a university visit. Hotel location is excellent and the room was clean and relatively well equipped, if a little dated. Beds were comfortable and there were the usual facilities in there too (fan, iron and boars, safe etc..) The only negative point is that there is no air conditioning, which - given that we managed to arrive on a day that was 27c - was a problem. The fans helped but it was still a clammy and uncomfortable night. Even budget hotels these days have AC so if you're staying in York during the warmer months it's worth bearing this in mind - especially when we paid almost £300/night."
