"Unfortunately, this stay didn't go great for us. While this is a peaceful and beautiful rural location, there was unusually hot weather, which wasn't the fault of the host. We received no check in information before arrival. When we arrived at the property, the host happened to be onsite and was not aware that we had booked through VRBO (as they also appear to list in other places). "We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The the outside space was very useful, particularly with a happy hour. Our room was clean and comfortable. Beyond the reception area, the communal stairs are very worn and the white paintwork rather grubby. This wouldn't stop us from staying again however due to its great location and friendly staff."

"We had a very enjoyable stay here recently. The house and grounds were beautiful and the bedrooms were spacious and well-equipped. We had breakfast and a really helpful member of staff (Mollie?) reserved a lovely table for us in the conservatory for my mother-in-law's birthday. We unfortunately didn't have time to use the facilities on this trip, but the pool and spa area looked lovely and we hope to return."

"Great location right in the centre of Rye and the staff were helpful. The room was bright and well cleaned. Enjoyed the breakfast. Would have been nice to get a bit more ventilation as the weather was so hot. Also the WI-FI was rather unreliable, working at first and then stopping. Overall, a good experience and would recommend."

"I had a wonderful stay at The Lodge in Winchelsea. The room was large, clean and with lovely views of the courtyard and surrounding countryside. The breakfast was included which was fantastic and it really was a feast with everything you could want for breakfast. Staff were really friendly and with free parking and a great price, what more could you want? Thank you to all at the Lodge."

"We had a room at the rear of the hotel which was nice and quiet. A fan was available in the room which helped during the heatwave. There were tea and coffee making facilities in the room. No wardrobe but hooks on the wall and hangers for clothes which was ok as we only stayed 2 nights. Breakfast was lovely. Staff were friendly on arrival and at breakfast. Room was clean and the bed was comfortable."

"The George is in an ideal position, on the high street. Next door is a really good Thia Restaurant. There is a popular Italian restaurant within the hotel and an excellent little wine bar a few steps down the street. The George is a budget hotel that gives good value. We had plenty of space both in the room and bathroom. Toiletries and tea/coffee facilities were provided. The fan was very much appreciated during the hot spell."
