beautiful!

Posted 29-Jan-2016
Pros: Clean
Cons: I was happy with eveything
Location: about thirty minutes from airport. Golf course is ten minutes away, and a shopping mall inside resort in walking distance.
My wife and I planned a six day trip, we couldn't get home due to big snow storm on east coast and had to stay four extra nights. It was absolutely beautiful ! Hotel was clean and the beach was paradise. There was no issue with sea weed, the beach was raked every morning. Staff was friendly and at our service. I walked the beach everyday and believe Paradisus is the nicest hotel on the strip. I played golf every morning, nice course well maintained. I would visit again.

golf course (cocatal golf)

Posted 27-Jan-2016
Pros: Friendly hotal staff
Location: Play golf
The golf course is located across from hotel, the shuttle bus leaves the hotel 10 minutes before the hour, no shuttle from 11::40 to 12:50, th golf course is fun to play, wide fairways, good roll, if you are a 10 to 18 handcap you will score better than you handcap and you will enjoy your stay.(if you have time practice your putting, speed can be a problem)

BEAUTIFUL

Posted 13-Jan-2016
Pros: The entire place is beautiful and clean.
Cons: Let night life last longer!
Location: Golf, swim, parasail, snorkel, paddle board, scuba dive, shop, eat, drink!
What you see in the pictures is what you get! We kept wondering why it was not 5 stars! It was so nice, everyone we met/staff was amazing and funny. This place is so attentive to their guests. The only thing that was a bummer was night life ended at 11PM (roughly) where in America we're just about to start our night!

'Unlimited' Golf is a rip off!

Posted 10-Jan-2016
Stayed at this golf spa hotel for free golf. Golf charged extortionate 150 usd for a shared cart that had no gps but offered 3 free drinks each. Extra 6 dollars for 40 range balls. Hard Rock Hotel and Golf is so much better. Hotel, views and buffet food was excellent. Room was very noisy with people walking past, plumbing gurgling, too many room service calls and knocks on our first night?!

Good instalations but the room looks old. The bathroom lights iluminate all the room at night. Good breakfast and dinner options.

Beautiful beach; Musty room

Posted 06-Jan-2016
Pros: Beautiful views of beach; Beautiful Lobby; The restaurants that you had to pay for were excellent;
Cons: Coffee station - it was not inviting at all - it was downright ugly;
Location: Beach ; We took excursion to catalina island;
Beautiful Beach; Our room unfortunately smelled very musty; My daughter and I got sick from the food however, the rest of my family did not; I did not know we had to brush our teethe with bottled water - had I known that before I would NOT have booked the trip; I did not care for the food and the way it was displayed with many people buzzing around and kids touching everything - YUCK! Wine bar in the lobby did NOT offer flights of wine for sale which would have been a classy touch!

Nice resort in front of the beach.

Posted 05-Jan-2016
Pros: The beach and the pool are close to each other. Evening entertainment was good and family oriented. Resort highly recommend for families.
Cons: Food at the buffet not the same menu every day. Have a better system to book evening dinners.
Location: NA
Good overall. Felt that staff are not happy, hardly you can see their smile comparing to other resorts in the area. The food at the buffet is always the same menu. I didn't understand why all evening restaurants were fully booked while we have tried to book them a week ahead on Sunday morning for the whole period of our stay - something not right was going on - not sure if some guests had priority over others. We end up having early dinner reservations but not in the restaurant of our choice.

A 2-Star hotel at 5-Star pricing.

Posted 04-Jan-2016
Pros: Most of the staff was stellar!
Cons: Almost everything.
Location: We never left the resort, but there is a shopping center near by and it is a short commute to the airport.
When we arrived we were taken to our Junior Suite which was mostly a hotel room with a couch. The room had an open concept, which meant I could see my boyfriend when I was sitting on the toilet. Very uncomfortable! I asked the front desk if anything with a bathroom door was available & that lead us to an "upgraded" room which we paid $400 for. The room was a better set up but I believe a bach/bach-ette party was the last to stay in the room. Ref dented, faucet bent, light fixture crooked, door broken, etc. Came back to shower & hot water wasn't working. They sent a technician while we went to the buffet and promised it would be fixed. Came back to more cold water. The sent out another tech & then they repaired it, but couldn't change the temp. Waited 1 hour for room service later that night & when we called to check on it, they told us they sent it to another room. At this point my bf was furious & calls for a manager. The only person available was a customer service rep for Melia. They promised to have the manager call in the morning, but no call. Later that day we received a bottle of wine & fruit delivered to our room. Nice, but food/drinks are included so this wasn't acceptable. Never heard from the manager. If you've never been to an all-inclusive you may enjoy this. It was my 3rd time to DR & this resort didn't have the touches that others had. No snacks in the room. Minimal turndown service. Uncomfortable beds. Very few drink take on the beach and no little umbrellas.
