Relaxing getaway

The hotel is gorgeous and spotless. We stayed in the Royal Service section, and it was definitely worth the upgrade. The beach service was incredible and made our trip truly memorable. Wanda was our bartender at the sunset bar. She was always ready to whip up your favorite drink whether or not it was on the menu Pedro always had a spot on the beach ready for us and brought us our favorite drinks without us even asking! Great people! They will be the reason we return

Nice beach which is close to the hotel

Only thing to let the hotel down was the room service. Food turning up cold or taking over 45 minutes...which is too long when drunk and you end up falling asleep and missing it!

Pros: Everything.
Cons: It was perfect.
Highly recommend. The hotel itself was beautiful. The staff was incredibly friendly. We had an amazing time here. Can't wait to go back!

Location: Esta bien ubicado, tienes kms de playa para poder recorrer sin ningun tipo de peligro. Cerca cocobongo, 2 centros comerciales y a 15 min aeropuerto
Ideal para un viaje de relax, todos los detalles estan cuidados al máximo. EL todo incluido es de calidad, el buffet libre es espectacular, los restaurantes para las cenas, rallan el sobresaliente, no olvidemos que es un hotel. La verdad que es un hotel TOP

Excellent hotel, in the beach, excellent staff

The checking was very fast. Hotel facilities are beautiful and in excellent conditions. The beach is clean and beautiful. The interteiments activity could no be better. The dinner for Christmas eve was amezing. The decoration was a wonderland. For Christmas day they did bring Santa Cloud in a helicopter. Santa gave a gift to every single child who approach him for a picture that was not only a beautiful experience for children but also adults.

The most friendly and helpful staff that we have experienced in the Caribbean. Food was very good. The manager was outstanding in helping with a number of special requests to accommodate our group. The rooms were spacious and close the the pool and beach.

I'd try a different place before going back...

Pros: The look and feel of the place is quite nice. The bar tenders and waiters were all nice.
Cons: Management attitude towards service needs an overhaul. Their front desk and concierge staff is very comfortable saying sorry and no to the guests.
Location: Golf and explore the local village down the road, or just stay in the hotel is you're not an explorer.
It's quite unfortunate that the staff is trained to so casually and routinely say no when it comes to providing excellent service - because the facility and grounds are beautiful and the hotel has the potential to deliver an amazing vacation experience. My wife and I stayed at the hotel for a week in mid Dec 2016 with our 2 year old. My wife is Dominican, and speaks spanish, and I brought about $250 in 5's and singles with me to use for tips (despite the hotel being all inclusive) since we know that we like good service and we understand that tipping can encourage excellent service. The hotel is clean and very beautiful, the beach is amazing (but that's anywhere in Bavaro). Overall the food service staff and the bar tenders were all quite nice and willing to do the basics and go beyond. We found the largest disconnect to be with all of the front desk, and concierge staff. The scheduling process for restaurant reservations was mind boggling, annoying, and just plain out of service most of the time - the staff managing that process was caviler and could care less about the disorganization or finding a solution that was convenient for the guests. The $550 Expedia promoted resort credit was a sham. We were allowed to check in, and were never advised as to the complicated process and rules involved with actually using the resort credit, or securing the vouchers until we proactively inquired about it days into our trip. Argued with concierge at check out to use vouchers.

Family friendly

Pros: Family friendly, nice ocean, nice pool.
Cons: Many staff can't speak English.
Overall, we enjoyed staying in this hotel. Kids liked pool. Foods are good. Didn't use steakhouse because other reviews say it is bad. Restaurant Bona (Sushi) is terrible. Other restaurants are very good, but kind of hard to make reservation.
