Nice Hotel close to the beach

Nice Caribbean resort. It is worthwhile to buy the upgrade to use the "reserve" facilities during the day. Do not need to upgrade the room: just upgrade to the separate beach area and restaurant and bars. I heard that folks in the regular rooms found the beach way too crowded. Main drawback: after dinner the "entertainment" at the Gabi bar is loud american-club-style "music". The Avenue bar plays some Bachata and Merengue but it is not loud enough to dance and there is really no space to dance anyway.

Felt Like Royalty!

From the second we were greeted upon exiting our shuttle from the airport to the hugs goodbye from our concierge, Leidy, we were completely treated like royalty. Upon our arrival we learned our two bedroom master suite would not be available for us until our second night. Not missing a beat, the staff provided us with two connected one-bedroom suites for our first night and for the "inconvenience" upgraded us to "reserve" status. It was hardly an inconvenience as every little detail in the smaller rooms were perfect anyway! Leidy introduced herself immediately on our arrival and checked in with us regularly, making sure our favorite restaurants were booked, our beach chairs were ready and, when we finally moved to the other room, that it was exactly as we had wanted. Everyone at Paradisus Palma Real was incredibly warm, friendly and fun! They truly cared about making our vacation experience a wonderful one!

overbooked my room type

Pros: the kids had a great time and there was always something for them to do
Cons: more restaurants that you can order from a menu or beach food service.
Location: we were told not to leave the property which is why we booked an all inclusive
we arrived to the hotel at 2:30pm for a 3pm checkin and was told none of our 3 rooms were ready. in fact, we were down graded to two connecting rooms instead of my online booking of 2 bedroom master suite because they overbooked our room type. my friend also booked a one bedroom jr suite which we asked to be on same floor or as close as could be. nobody ever responded to let us know that the 2 room types aren't available in the same building. checkin was at 3 and our rooms we not ready until 5pm. our 1 bedroom was requested as 2 double beds but we got 1king so we had to move. wasted the entire checkin day with aggravation. when you book online they don't explain the different color bracelets and what that means as far as pools, beaches, dining and alcohol. 1 of our connecting rooms had broken AC that never got fixed and our 1 room phones were broken the only phone that worked was in the bathroom. the rooms smelt from mildew. the food was very average. the most pleasant part of out trip was Leidy, our personal concierge, Dionis our beach attendant and Smil the bartender at the common area bar in the waiting area of rare, and bana. oh forgot to mention we had a reservation for dinner at 9pm and didn't get seated until 9:40 at Bana teppanyaki.

Dishonest and over-priced

Arrived- up-sold package that was not worth it. Room abutted heavy construction. Took two days to move room. New room had broken window and patio door. Took five days to repair same (we were there for 17 days) Golf was supposed to be all-inclusive. Not true. 65.00 a day for cart. First day we didn't take the chit with us for golf. Had to hitch a ride to main gate and walk across to course. Security told us to walk to Club House. Arrived at GC to discover that because we didn't have chit with us, we would have to pay 220.00 for 18. Discussed with Hotel manager Vladimir. Told us not to worry about it, he would take care of it. Never heard another word from him. Ended up playing anywhere but the hotel course as a matter of principal. ATM (only one) was always out of service. Never had change at the front desk before noon. Concierge was never to be found. When I saw her a week after arriving she was shocked to hear that we had switched rooms?! I guess we're supposed to update staff...? Last little bit of fun- Laundry bill....430.00 USD. Be sure to examine what you're checking on the laundry- It was dropped on us when we were checking out, and of course we were on our way to airport. Overall we had some very good staff interface at the resort as far as restaurants, (Martha, Guilberto and Anna) but Vladimir and Jose (managers) are not good to their word, and do not buy any up-sells from these people - Not worth it. I would not recommend this resort.

Due to all the inconveniences with our renovation program, we offered you a dinner at Passion restaurant while you were still at the hotel. Regarding the inconvenience with Cocotal Golf Course, I would like to remember you that in order to use the golf course without payment, the Cocotal Management needed a voucher. Since you didn’t present the voucher, Vladimir and José talked with the management of the golf course about the possibility of a refund, once the voucher was delivered at Cocotal. However, it was not possible since they’ve already processed the payment and we are sorry for it, as was Vladimir when he informed you of the result. Allow me to apologize also for the problems regarding the laundry. However, I would like to assure you we charge the correct amount and we recheck all the guests items before we deliver them. Beautiful Paradisius

Cons: I am an interior designer. In my humble opinion, the decor in the rooms, and certain sections of the lobby are a bit dated, and too heavy.
We had a wonderful visit at Paradisius Palma. The resort is huge and beautiful. Initially we were given a room with a “garden” view. The room wasn’t ready when promised. When we arrived in our room, we saw that the room was quite dated, and worn. Our garden view was really a view of a construction site. It was ok, until we heard the constitution at 8:30pm, and then woke up to loud construction noise at 7:00 am. When we alerted the front desk, they moved us to a much fresher, albeit dated room. This was much better. The other thing that was wonderful about this resort, is that the concierge alerted all the restaurants of my son’s severe food allergies. He even printed up little notes with all the allergies printed in Spanish so we could hand to the waiters to make sure that the kitchen knew. All in all, I would say that we loved the resort, and would definitely come back!

Wonderful Experience

We are a wonderful trip. Our accommodations were great! I had booked us in 2 rooms with King beds. At the desk they noticed out adult children were staying in one room and took it upon themselves to switch the room to one with 2 queens. Everyone working was polite and always seemed happy. We didn’t want to leave.

Friendly hotel

The best part of the hotel is the food. Variety of restaurants and food. The staff is very friendly. One of the rooms are outdated. We were given a room the first night that was very worn out the room we were upgraded to was much nicer. I think they need more live entertainment for music and dancing.

THE BEST TIME EVER!

Pros: Beautiful, spacious and clean.
Cons: I cant think of anything that needs improved.
Location: I would just stay on the resort. Really no reason to go off of it unless you go on an excursion. We did swam with the dolphins and that was awesome.
This place was AMAZING! We stayed from March 1-6. Before the Spring Break crowd. We went for our 10 yr anniversary. Even though this place is family oriented, it never once bothered us. It's so big and spread out. We could not find one thing to complain about. All the staff was friendly and upbeat. All the food was outstanding. Our concierge handled everything and anything we wanted or needed - reservations, excursions, etc. Weather was perfect. Just bring your own aloe in case you burn. They will get you on that. :) If you can, upgrade to The Reserve. You get more restaurant options and private areas on the beach and resort. I guess the only thing to possibly complain about would be its not FREE to golf. By the time you rent cart, clubs and balls, you spend $150.
