Awesome place!!!

This hotel was great! My friend and I had to take separate flights to get to Punta Cana but the hotel made every effort to ensure we each had a ride to and from the airport at the correct times. Upon arriving, we received a welcome drink and thorough directions around the hotel and how to schedule excursions. Speaking of the excursions, please do them you won't regret it!! This hotel is connected to Barcelo Grand, the family hotel, so you may see children running around the beach but other than that it's exclusively catered to adults. I will definitely stay here again!

Relaxing Vacation

Pros: The service was always great.
Cons: The bathroom tub could use updating.
Location: Deep sea fishing, massages, catamaran rides. All wonderful.
This is our 3rd trip to the Barcelo Bavaro Beach. We love the way we are treated by all the staff. They are always there to help with a smile. The hotel is right on the beach which is convenient and the beach is kept clean every day. The grounds keepers are always cleaning and keeping everything neat. The food is good and the service is great. We will be returning to this hotel in a few months. It was a wonderful week. We met the nicest people at this resort. My husband went deep sea fishing and had a great experience.

Amazing resort, gorgeous beach

Fourth time in PC but first time at this resort. My wife and I were there from March 22 through March 29. We love the service, the facilities were clean and well organized the food was great with great variety the beach was gorgeous the pool was awesome. The entertainment at night was really good and the animation group was really friendly and got us to participate in a few activities that made our stay even more fun. We can't say enough good things about our experience. If we go back will definitely go back to the same resort.

We stayed 4 nights at the Barcelo adults only resort. We would not return and when people ask how my trip was... "eh" sums it up. We purchased premium level. I am not sure what that got us. Restaurants were not good overall. Chez Gormet was the best... but best means eating edible food versus not edible food. We found ourselves at the buffet AFTER our dinner reservations most nights. If you like hunting to find a good drink- then this is the place! You can buy $12 bottles of wine at dinner for $80- which is what we had to do most nights. They do have some scotch, 12 year dewars for those that drink scotch. The beach was ok, plenty of chairs on the adult side. The draw back was the view. There are structures in the ocean - made of concert blocks and poles that obstruct the ocean views. Cannot just chill and view the horizon with these in play. And there are NO beach bars... again hunting for a drink! The room was "eh" too, pillows think, sheets scratchy. Summary- go to Jamaica! Negril...

Nice hotel on beautiful beach.

The beach was gorgeous! Food was good, but they lacked a snack bar for during the day by the pool/beach. Room service is not included in all inclusive and you can not take food away from restaurants. Drinks are great, but beach does not have wait service and there is no swim up bar. Room was clean and comfortable, A/C worked very well and there was plenty of hot water.

A Fantastic, Relaxing Spring Break

Tips If you book “Ocean Front” without upgrading to Club Premium, you will get one of the best rooms in one of the buildings that are about 50 yards back from the beach. The only better rooms are “Ocean Front Club Premium”, where you’ll get the same room, but in one of the buildings that is closer to the beach. Book your dinner reservations right when you get there. We did so through our Club Premium concierge, and had no problem getting a good reservation for each night. Most restaurants open at 6:00, but in reality, it was closer to 6:10. Island time. There is a train that runs you back and forth from the Palace. Often, if you don’t want to wait for the train, just ask someone to give you a ride on the golf cart. Tip them a few bucks, and you’ve received a quicker, more enjoyable ride. We did this several times on our way to dinner, and then usually walked back. Bring larger cups that keep your drinks cold. This was a great tip that we read before leaving. The bartenders were happy to fill the larger cups, and we were able to make fewer trips back and forth from the beach. Men must wear long pants and close toed shoes at the restaurants. Don’t forget to bring them. Ladies, think about bringing something to cover your shoulders once the sun goes down and it gets cooler. We brought $150 in ones for tips, and probably used about $100 of them. Tipping is not necessary, but we felt it was well-deserved for the service that we received. More below..

Constant issues in room

Water leak in bathroom Broken remote control Missing towels Only 1 beer type offer House wine was terrible Food was served and not once were we ask how are meal was after they served it Half of staff did not speak English

Nice hotel very close to beach

A friend and I stayed for 5 days and the hotel made every second count. Guest services was wonderful and helped plan our week. Pool was very nice and close to everything. Chairs are limited so we did feel a rush to grab one. Beach was also right outside our room which was super nice. Adults only experience was great and relaxing (no kids or access noise). Buffet was nice but hard to accomadate allergies. Make your reservations early for restaurants!! Rooms were nicely kept and cleaned to great standard. Lastly, don't expect free wifi. We paid for daily service on two devices and it was quite pricey! Overall, a wonderful experience. We would recommend and/or return for another visit.
