"This place is great. The owner Israel is very responsive and nice. I originally stayed at another hotel but their AC was broken. I had to find another hotel last minute at 8:30PM. I found this place because it’s close to where I originally stayed and messaged Israel. He welcomed me to his hotel despite the late time of day. The check in process was super easy too. "The hotel is lovely and the staff was nice, but it was not a good experience. My room was unpleasant. My bathroom (toilet) didn’t work. There was also a problem on arrival. I had a terrible time finding the place because the hotels.com listing had no proper address. The cab driver who has worked here for decades had never heard of this tiny place. "Had the best time at The Reef 28. My partner and I enjoyed the atmosphere and good vibes. Rooftop was live and amazing. Rooms were cozy and clean. The food delicious and drinks were on point. The staff were very friendly and helpful with any questions we had. Located blocks away from beach and entertainment strip, its definitely worth the visit. "

"This place had such mixed reviews online so I wasn't sure what to expect and almost changed hotels. I am so glad that I didn't. We were very impressed! Great food, drinks, service, room, and amenities. The only thing we weren't impressed with was the steak at the steakhouse restaurant but other than that, food was amazing! We stayed in El Beso ground floor with a swim out pool. I would highly recommend it! "

"Our stay was incredible. Our concierge Fabián made sure our stay was perfect. He was communicative, thoughtful, informative, and went above & beyond for us over & over again. The property was beautiful, food was yummy, drinks were strong, everyone was so polite and kind. As a queer couple, we are always nervous about how we’ll be treated while traveling, but happy to report we were treated like every other couple, which is refreshing! The only negative is that we went during seaweed season so the smell was really bad on the property & we couldn’t go in the ocean, but our swim up room and the multiple pools made it worth it!"

"Second time at this hotel and it never disappoints. All the staff are exceptionally courteous and professional. The rooms and common areas are impeccably clean. If you don't feel like going out your room comes equipped with a refrigerator, microwave and stove burners with fume hoods. It's a great place if you want to rest, relax and recharge from normal life. Grateful that this hotel and it's staff add to the Playa del Carmen charm! Thank you. Denis D."
