We checked in early & we were showed a lovely room. The problem was that although the room was air conditioned it wasn't quite cool enough for our needs. We were assured that they would have another room after 3:00(normal check in time). We did some sightseeing & after returning we were brought to a beautiful cool room which was a free upgrade which we truly appreciated. The concierge Gerard was fabulous !!!! The breakfast was wonderful and the staff were beyond courteous & helpful. We had dinner reservations in other places so we did not dine in the restaurant but it was totally elegant. The only slight problem was the 2 steep steps up to the bathroom but I realize that is part of being in such a beautiful historic building. I would definitely recommend this hotel
"Lovely hotel ideally situated for the Old Quarter"
The hotel is right on the river and a main road but there were no noise issues. The room was spacious and well air conditioned. The bar never seemed to be open though, and there is only breakfast (no restaurant). However there are many fine places to eat and drink only a few minutes walk away.
The staff was wonderful. We spent very little time in our room, other than sleeping. There are lots of stairs, so
be in shape if you stay here. We were a short walk to the market and thoroughly enjoyed shopping there, right across the river.

A very warm welcome by Vincent which was second to none. He was so kind and thoughtful on arrival - taking our bags to the hotel room, telling us about the history of the building, providing a map of Lyon and highlighting things for us to do! The accommodation was amazing, we were very comfortable and the location was really central. We would definitely stay there again! Thank you Vincent for your kind hospitality.

My husband and I had a lovely stay at Mon Hotel Particulier. The room was clean with a decent kitchenette and nice bathroom. Vincent texted me the day of our arrival to coordinate. The entrance to the place is a bit dungeon feeling, but the accommodations are not. Would definitely stay again. Being in the old town area of Lyon was very nice! We didn't stay more than one night, as we were on our way to another city, so not sure how room cleaning worked.
This was a unique stay in the heart of old town Lyon. This 'hotel' is a variety of apartments all over the old town. The apartment i was in is in a fascinating old building and you feel like such a local going into your front door on the street. The room and bed were comfortable. The hosts were responsive to extra needs like pillows or towels. So it was a fascinating adventure. The only downside were those 68 stone 15th century steps that you had to go up and down every time you left or returned. I never made it down the steps without the lights turning off at least once. And never made it up the steps without stopping to rest (ok to pant and catch my breath). I do recommend it as long as you know what you are signing up for!
Vieux Lyon and Fourvière Hill contain some of Lyon's oldest buildings and served as the seat of power in Lyon from Roman rule through the Renaissance. The Cathédrale St. Jean and the Basilique de Fourvière are two of Lyon's most prominent churches. Visit December 8 for the city's Festival of Lights when residents place candles in their windows and the city puts on colorful displays.
