"Amazing views of Lyon and a wonderful Spa Terrace!"
We walked from the train station to the hotel. My daughter is young and adventurous. I was a little hesitant to walk the whole way but we were only staying the night and I'm glad we walked as we were able to see the beautiful town with the fountains, the beautiful rivers and bridges, the quaint atmosphere and the breathtaking view as we climbed higher. I'm not going to lie, the steps up to the hotel are incredible daunting and I'm not a fit woman, but I made it carrying my backpack, heavy camera and lens and purse and what a spectacular sight. I only wish we had more than one night. I will be returning soon hopefully with my boyfriend so he can see what a great place it is! Wonderful history too!
Room at the front of hotel has window that you need to stand on a chair to look out of. If you keep the window open, you will get all the smoke from the smoking hangout directly below. Hotel should direct staff and guests to a designated smoking area away from windows. Across the street are bars that stay open very late - on Saturday night, they were still going strong at 3:30 a.m. and of course comes through to that room.
The hotel is ideally situated, close to everything; the staff are great, friendly and informative; the room was clean and the bed linen was great. It would be 5 stars excellent if only I had a different room away from the noisy smoky street. So I would recommend with that proviso

"Lovely hotel ideally situated for the Old Quarter"
The hotel is right on the river and a main road but there were no noise issues. The room was spacious and well air conditioned. The bar never seemed to be open though, and there is only breakfast (no restaurant). However there are many fine places to eat and drink only a few minutes walk away.
The staff was wonderful. We spent very little time in our room, other than sleeping. There are lots of stairs, so
be in shape if you stay here. We were a short walk to the market and thoroughly enjoyed shopping there, right across the river.

3rd floor apartment in a 14th century building. If you're not up for a 3 floor spiral staircase of approximately 50 steps every time you want to go out this is not for you! Lovely living space, lots of mirrors add to the feeling of space. Well equipped kitchen and had a washing machine which is a definite plus.
Staff were extremely helpful, recommending places to visit and eat. Close to restaurants, cafes, markets, shopping, and many interesting places to visit. Would definitely return.

This was a unique stay in the heart of old town Lyon. This 'hotel' is a variety of apartments all over the old town. The apartment i was in is in a fascinating old building and you feel like such a local going into your front door on the street. The room and bed were comfortable. The hosts were responsive to extra needs like pillows or towels. So it was a fascinating adventure. The only downside were those 68 stone 15th century steps that you had to go up and down every time you left or returned. I never made it down the steps without the lights turning off at least once. And never made it up the steps without stopping to rest (ok to pant and catch my breath). I do recommend it as long as you know what you are signing up for!
Vieux Lyon and Fourvière Hill contain some of Lyon's oldest buildings and served as the seat of power in Lyon from Roman rule through the Renaissance. The Cathédrale St. Jean and the Basilique de Fourvière are two of Lyon's most prominent churches. Visit December 8 for the city's Festival of Lights when residents place candles in their windows and the city puts on colorful displays.
