"The first thing to mention is that this property is on 3 floors. There are 30 very steep, very narrow, stairs between the ground floor and the top bedroom. Although it does indeed sleep 6 people, having 3 double beds, the bed in the attic room is half under the eaves of the roof and you must bend double to get in and risk knocking yourself out to get there. None of the upstairs windows open. We tried every window on the upper 2 floors and were unable to budge one. The larger of the 2 bedrooms on...

"What a gem of a find and without hesitation would return. The bus stop is literally just outside around the corner where we got the bus to Scarborough for £2 esch way. We did the pub quiz on the Wednesday night for a good cause at only £1 each to enter with a free bowl of chips and a plate of sandwiches. The pub has a great atmosphere and we eat in the pub on the evening. I had home made steak pie with yorkshire puddings to start. The bedrooms are modern and very clean with tea msking facilities...

Single glazed windows don't keep much of the road noise out but, had it not been for karaoke (which I was warned about and finished at a sensible time) I wouldn't have heard the pub. For the price, certainly can't grumble. Only main gripe was the fire exit sign, which I'm sure is far brighter than it needs to be. Bring shower gel! "

"First time staying in Malton. Arrived Friday just after lunch on market day and parked just outside the building. Chapter 2 is a bar and served a couple of real ales as well as the usual range of beverages. The bar itself is very nice and staff were very friendly. After being shown to our room in a complex out the back of the building we had a couple of pints in a snug with a real fire blazing... just noce for an Autumnal day.
