"Didn't have the best nights sleep due to noisy people coming in as late as 5am banging doors etc !!!"

"Hotel convenient for Haydock Park racecourse but that's about all. Terribly in need of bringing up to date. One night in a 'premium room' which was well overpriced. Toilet discoloured, stain on pillowcase, sink extremely slow to drain, with room generally in need of refurbishment. Girl behind bar spilled part of large glass of wine, placed it in the 'puddle', had to be asked for paper napkins which she dumped on the bar without any apology. Not all staff were this bad but hotel not really a nice place to stay. And to cap it all, the race we came to see was abandoned!"

"This was a good place to stay the night before a business meeting in Liverpool. The room was fine, and I slept well. I would use this hotel again. The Toby Carvery next door was OK for an evening meal but I didn't want to go there for breakfast. So, instead, I walked to a local Tesco Express and bought some items to eat in my room the next morning. The hotel itself looks like it could do with a bit of maintenance (lick of paint here and there, and some carpets are in need of replacing), but the staff were excellent."
