Charming Victorian house overlooking Hudson River and Beacon

Riverside Holiday home with kitchen and balcony
** “SUPERHOST” & GREAT REVIEWS ON ANOTHER VACATION RENTAL WEBSITE! Enjoy the Hudson River views from the porch, the living room and the dining room. Andrew Jackson Downing, a Newburgh native, was a famous landscape architect in the 18th century behind the planning of Central Park. 60-minute drive from NYC. Or the Metro North from Grand Central to Beacon and Uber to the house (about 10 minutes).

Newburgh was featured in the New York Times in 12/20 as "the largest historic district outside of NYC." You will see one-of-a kind free-standing houses influenced by him in this historic district of Newburgh.

This well-cared-for 1920's home is located on one of the most coveted streets mentioned in the NYT article, and a visual delight with original arts and crafts detail such as gorgeous wood staircase, bordered wood floors, crown moldings, a decorative fireplace and original doors. In addition to its visual beauty, this home makes great use of interior space with wonderful entertaining spaces on the 1st level with the living room, dining room, and the kitchen, a bathroom on each of the 3 floors (the bathroom on the 2nd floor has a claw foot tub), 3 bedrooms on the 2nd floor, and top floor master suite with a half bath. All three queen-sized bedrooms come with a desk. You can see all the way to Beacon from the top floor master suite! The large backyard has a nice patio equipped with a Weber grill for entertaining. You can work on the porch looking at the river (there is a socket on the porch). Other conveniences include a washer and a dryer in the basement, and a driveway that could fit 3 cars. Indoor dining is permitted. The house is walkable to the well-known Newburgh waterfront restaurant area ranging from the high-end Blu Pointe to Pizza Shop and Hudson Taco with incredible views. Pizza Shop and Hudson Taco (0.6 miles away) offer delivery service and curbside pickup, and Amazon packages get delivered with no issues. ShopRite (grocery), Target, CVS Pharmacy and Rite Aid Pharmacy typically deliver within a few hours on the same day via Instacart. Mid Valley Wine & Liquor (1.2 miles away) offers curbside pickup. There are wineries, farms, hiking trails, museums, and drive-in movie theaters near the house. Due to the covid, we’re taking extra steps to clean and sanitize frequently touched surfaces between reservations.
Air-conditioned accommodation at this holiday home offers fireplaces and coffee/tea makers. Rooms open to balconies. Kitchens offer fridges, hobs, microwaves and separate dining areas. Bathrooms include a shower and hairdryers.
Recreational amenities at the holiday home include a water park.

The recreational activities listed below are available either on-site or nearby; fees may apply.

Great location
We really enjoyed our stay at Sunny's place. The house was super clean and had labels on many things with was very helpful. The house has an excellent view of the Newburgh waterfront. There are great food options nearby. Sunny was very helpful if we had any questions and responded back very quickly. We would definitely stay again!

5/5 Excellent

Lovely and relaxing stay
Sunny's place was lovely and exactly what we were looking for, she was very responsive and the check-in process was easy. The house was spotless and had a lovely kitchen and dining area for creating meals and enjoying company. The house has a lot of room and some of the bedrooms feature a beautiful water view. Would highly recommend, especially those looking for a nice break from NYC.

Charming house with a great location
We loved our stay in this charming house that made us feel like we were back in time. You can tell there's a lot of history in this house. The check in process was easy and Sunny was very sweet and responsive. She left us some bottles of wine (it was my friend's birthday weekend) and gave us an extended check out on our last day which was much needed! The house was clean and the beds were comfy. There were some really great art pieces in the house. The downstairs bathroom near the kitchen is renovated and the shower has good pressure. The location of the house was perfect. Not more than 20 minutes drive to all of the activities we did in the area (Breakneck Ridge Trail, Benmarl Winery, Storm King Art Center, Newburgh and Beacon main streets for dining). Some of the restaurants we loved were Hudon Taco, Pamela's on Hudson, and Blacc Vanilla (for breakfast-the best egg sandwiches and muffins). We had a wonderful weekend in Newburgh!
