The Murrayfield Hotel is the gem of Edinburgh. I had the pleasure of staying 4 nights. It’s a quick bus ride to Edinburgh Castle. In a great old neighbourhood of Edinburgh with excellent local shops, a few restaurants and cafes nearby. The room. My room had very high ceilings with the original plaster work. I can't fault the hotel, the staff, the bar, the food or the price. Staff were young but knowledgable. Food was simple but delicious. The bar had inventive twists on drinks (Negronis with port replacing Martini Rosso? A hot chocolate with Remy Martin?) If you're looking for a hotel that is bang in the centre of Edinburgh, look elsewhere. This is in the beautiful area of Stockbridge, 20min walk or 5 min bus ride from Princes St. We'll stay here again. Loved it.

Excellent location in Morningside close to Pubs/Restaurants so no need to worry that food is not served on the premises. The rooms are beautiful and cater for all your needs, definitely a warm and luxurious feel to them. The owners have provided a ‘snack room’ for guests which is a simple but genius move on their part which has biscuits, crisps, fizzy drinks, water and milk (to name a few) which is part of your price. We had an amazing stay! Lovely and helpful staff. I am very thankful! I planned a surprise for my partner as it was his birthday, soni asked if they can do it for me, they said they don’t do that but they will note of it but the staff did an extra mile and also gave us free drinks! It was simple but very special, he was surprised! ❤️ thank you so much. We will surely recommend and come back again.

This was a great place to stay for our family trip to Edinburgh. The tram station is right outside and only 20 mins ins. We drove and parking was straight forward albeit chargeable at £8 per day. The pool was a real added bonus for our kids after a long day of tourism. Only slight issue for me is our kids are getting older and Novotels concept of a "family" room is starting to look less desirable than the Premier Inns as the sofa bed is tight. Our room exceptionally clean. The location of the hotel was perfect and the car parking facilities were very particularly useful - and unusual to find within a city break. The club lounge was also a real treat.

We only stayed one night in the hotel but can thoroughly recommend it. Beautiful rooms, friendly staff and great atmosphere in the bar/restaurant. The food (dinner) was excellent. Great location, only 5 mins walk from West End tram stop and 2 mins walk from Princes Street Gardens. Highly recommended.
