Pros: We enjoyed everything about this hotel. Although we were using it as a stop-over on our way to Scotland we were very well received.
Cons: Slip mats in the baths.
My wife and I have had the pleasure of staying here before so we do know the hotel. The reason we returned, and will do so again, was the experience of our first stay. The rooms are spotlessly clean and well maintained. The food is beyond comparison. Definitely to be recommended.

Well placed to reach tourist attractions

Posted 17-May-2017
Pros: The friendly staff. The food. The atmosphere in the pub, just wish it was my local!
Cons: Not a lot really
Location: Well placed to reach Alnwick castle, Cragside, Seahouses, Bamburgh castle, Holy Island, the coast, the Northumberland National Park
A very nice country pub, it has a good menu and the food is excellent, we stayed there for 3 nights and ate there every night, the meals we had were delicious, hot, generous portions and reasonably priced. The staff were friendly, courteous and very helpful. The pub and restaurant were well used by the villagers. The rooms are in a purpose built annex at the rear of the pub so no noise from the bar. the rooms are spacious, comfortable and clean, there was plenty of hot water, a powerful shower, even on the 1st floor! My wife and I will be going back up to Northumberland in a few weeks and will be looking to book in here again.

Cons: Very little
Location: Close to Alnwick. Amble, Alnmouth, Craster, Seahouses and Holy Island
Staff were excellent and couldn't do enough for us. Food also excellent - very good value and a brilliant choice of dishes. Located in a great area for tourist attractions and also very easy to find. .

We really enjoyed our stay at The Cook and Barker Inn. The staff were very friendly and efficient. We ate in the restaurant both evenings and had excellent service and meals. The breakfast was also well cooked with a varied choice. Would certainly return if visiting the area.
