Pros: It was clean, friendly and efficient. It was also nice and quiet.
Cons: No improvements.
Location: We just stayed overnight.
Staff were polite, knowledgeable and efficient. Room was very clean. The food was outstanding and the traditional English country menu was diverse.

Lovely food.

Pros: Cosy Bar, food.
Cons: Nothing
Location: Pretty remote, nothing else in the village but Alnwick is a short drive away.
We stayed here on a Saturday night for an anniversary break. Rooms were clean and modern, away from the main building and nice and warm. The bar is very cosy with a real fire and a good selection of ales. The restaurant was beautiful and the food was excellent, highly recommend the steak. The only issue we had, which was no fault of the bar was the people above us were very loud and 1 decided to get up bang around and leave at 0330 in the morning.

Central to many attractions

Pleasant and helpful staff. Excellent menu choices. Ideal rural inn stay for many of the North region attractions . More suited to mature people without young children

Wonderful centre to explore Northumberland

Posted 16-Sep-2017
Location: Lindesfarne, Cragside, Vinlanda and stretches of glorious unspoilt coastline
We have no hesitation in recommending this friendly, comfortable hotel. Everyone on the staff was an example of how to treat a guest. Any request was met with a "can do, will do" attitude accompanied with a smile. The only downside was the lack of heating in the annex (immediately resolved by providing a portable heater).

Little difficult to find with sat nav but worth turning a few corners, fantastic restaurant and bar facility, good food and service. Room comfortable but looked like some improvements may have been in progress. Will definitely return

Dissapointing

Posted 25-Jun-2017 on Hotels
We stayed B&B three nights after reading the great reviews, how wrong they were. Our first breakfast my poached eggs were stone cold and my husbands fried egg was a flat mess no yolk also one mushroom burnt,so it was renewed but by then we had lost interest.later that day we decided to try a baggette cheese and pickle sandwich with salad and fries, the baggette was undercooked but the chips were burnt the cheese was grated and had been near heat it was melting,we were more than dissapointed.we did use the restaurant twice in the evenings and this was ok, This is a very busy pub with a big local trade, the hotel side is rather neglected but to be fair the rooms are very clean and the bed linen and towels good quality. We did speak to management before we left they said they would look into it. overall it was hit and miss very dissapointing.
