No frills, but highly recommended, great staff

I stayed at this hotel for the night when I was passing through Lucerne. I changed my travel plans to come back through Lucerne as I liked it so much, and I booked with this hotel again.
I booked the cheapest, most basic room. It was average, no frills, but clean. My one complain was that it had no fan, so it did run on the warm side (May). The staff was very friendly and helpful, probably the warmest welcome of my whole trip (out of about 10 hotels). The location was fantastic, very easy to get a lot of luggage from the train station to the hotel, very quick walk to the old town and covered bridge. Breakfast was what you'd expect out of a European hotel, maybe a few less hot choices than the average, but the variety of the fruits and breads was quite good and of high quality. Wi-fi worked great, area felt safe (though that may be true of most parts of the city).
