We were quite comfortable in our jr. suite...the beds and bedding were very nice. We slept well! We were also, pleasantly surprised by the very beautiful breakfast buffet each day...eggs, bacon...etc. fruit, croissants, breads...cereals and juices with full service at our table. This far exceeded our expectations! Very nice! Thank you so much!

Comfortablé Stay In Lucerne

Posted 18-Aug-2017
Pros: Everything
Cons: N--- A.
This is an excellent hotel. Conveniently located close to the Railway station which means you can wheel your suitcase there upon your arrival. The rooms are spacious, the breakfast is splendid and the front office staff have your interests as their interests from the moment you arrive. They want you to enjoy your stay. Book now.

Great location! Very clean and updated!

Posted 11-Jul-2017
Located in the heart of Lucerne. Walking distance to the train station, lake of Lucerne, and historical downtown. Small room by American standard. No AC is the worst as the temperature can go up to 80 degree Fahrenheit in summer. Room can be very noisy if facing the street.

Classic Hotel

Posted 04-Jul-2017
Pros: The "experience" was worthwhile. Fairly priced.
Cons: Restaurant too pricey. Out of sync with what is nearby.
Location: Can walk tom the "old town" in ten minutes where there are lots of things to do.
Hotel is of "old town" style and very well located across the street from the main station and only a short block away from the tour boats. Handy ATMs and tourist info office located in the train station. Great breakfast and large rooms. Very clean and staff were cordial and helpful. Truly a "feel good" place.

Good hotel at great location !!

Posted 07-Jun-2017
This hotel is at great location I.e. Right in front of luzern train station and tourist information center !! You can not beat this location Hotel staff is extremely helpful and courteous. They speak English / Swiss German / French so language is not a problem for the tourist folks ! Minor gripe is the internet connection ( wifi) which can be little intermittent . Over all a great hotel to stay !!

Nice hotel but maybe not on a summer weekend

Posted 05-Jun-2017
Pros: Excellent convenient location.
Cons: Another way to deal with nighttime noise besides earplugs.
Location: See description above.
From the outside, this hotel looks antique, but on the inside it is very modern with most of the latest conveniences. The staff was helpful and got us into our rooms before the posted check-in time. The location is ideal being next to the Lucerne train station and just a five minute walk across the river to the old quarter of town. Boat landings were also nearby and we found the local bus system easy to use with minimal wait times. The rooms were comfortable and spacious and bathrooms were well appointed. Additionally, the staff located our family in two adjacent rooms which was very helpful. There are however two issues that our family found annoying. The first is that the wireless internet available in the room was very slow to the point of being useless. The second more significant issue relates to the fact that, like many Swiss hotels, it has no a/c. As this was a summer visit, the windows had to be opened wide to catch the cool air outside. Since this hotel is in the center of town and ours was a weekend visit, the nightclub & bar patrons on the street below made a considerable amount of noise which did not end until about 3:30 am. That explained why a box of earplugs could be found on each nightstand, but even the earplugs weren't really enough as some family members did not sleep well as a result.

No frills, but highly recommended, great staff

Posted 13-May-2017 on Hotels
I stayed at this hotel for the night when I was passing through Lucerne. I changed my travel plans to come back through Lucerne as I liked it so much, and I booked with this hotel again. I booked the cheapest, most basic room. It was average, no frills, but clean. My one complain was that it had no fan, so it did run on the warm side (May). The staff was very friendly and helpful, probably the warmest welcome of my whole trip (out of about 10 hotels). The location was fantastic, very easy to get a lot of luggage from the train station to the hotel, very quick walk to the old town and covered bridge. Breakfast was what you'd expect out of a European hotel, maybe a few less hot choices than the average, but the variety of the fruits and breads was quite good and of high quality. Wi-fi worked great, area felt safe (though that may be true of most parts of the city). Strongly recommended.

Nice hotel, great staff, very close to train stati

Posted 06-May-2017
Pros: We were impressed with the staff, the spacious room, the cleanliness, the breakfast.... This was a good hotel for us.
Cons: We found the thermostat challenging but maybe that was just because it was new to us.
Location: Th hotel is located very close - maybe a block - from the train station and just a few blocks from the bridge to the Old Town.
We spent a wonderful night in Lucerne at the Waldstaetterhof Swiss Quality Hotel. We came in from Basel and our room was ready when we arrived. The staff was nice, helpful and very competent. Our room was spacious and clean. We were in the back of the hotel and it was very quiet. Our breakfast was included the next morning and it was wonderful. They had eggs, delicious bread and specialty cheeses, fruit and yogurt. The whole experience was terrific.

Excellent Hotel Just Steps Away from Train Station

Posted 04-May-2017
Pros: Location, comfort.
Cons: Nothing.
Location: As mentioned, the location can't be beat - very convenient and easy to find. Museums are nearby. Good shopping across the bridge in Old Town.
We found our rooms very comfortable, the staff super helpful, and the hotel restaurant superior. The hotel is literally 400 feet from the main train station and the main bridge to Old Town Lucerne.
