"Fantastic place to stay, unwind and be at one with nature! Not quite in the middle of nowhere but close enough. There are shops locally but we took what we needed for our stay so we could get away from everything. We ditched the car and walked everywhere. "Just back from a wonderful weekend at Forest Cottage. Lovely quaint cottage in a secluded spot. We stay all over UK in these type of properties and this one is far superior, in our opinion, than many others we have stayed. The Hosts are friendly and accommodating, nothing too much trouble and not intrusive (live in detached house next door but not so close). There are some great walks and lots of activities nearby and a visit to ye older ferrie inn is a must. As with anywhere in this area to get the most you have to prepared to be a bit active and there are a few steps required to get down to the cottage but definitely worthwhile. "Our second stay here and excellent once again especially as the owners kindly accepted a change of plans due to one of our dogs requiring medical care. The house is clean, warm, tidy and well thought out. Parking is plentiful and easy. Access to the forest is literally across the road directly onto a path that has not changed in the 50 years I’ve been walking it. Beautiful location completely spoilt by the classic/abandoned cars in the front garden making it unsafe for children and dogs. Field next door is similarly blighted. There were 2 very full large builders skips right in front of the property making sitting out in the tiny courtyard quite an unpleasant experience. "This is a beautiful house in a picturesque village surrounded by stunning countryside. The house is really well equipped and comfortable with plenty of space for everyone. We did country walks from the house on both days we were there and the scenery was spectacular - there is so much to explore and enjoy in this area. "The property has good parking for the property and can accomodate several cars. The house is very attractive and very well equipped for a large group to stay. With all rooms being ensuite it makes staying very easy for everyone. The linens and towels are a very good quality and the beds are very comfortable. The hot tub is well maintained and great fun and private. The crockery, glassware and serving dishes are perfect for celebrating family occasions. The welcome gift was a nice suprise also...

"The property was in an ideal location. Quiet yet only 10 minutes from a local town and 10 minutes from Forest of Dean. Easy to get to and easy to find. The property itself had everything we need, it was clean fully stocked and very comfortable. Host answered all our messages within minutes. Very happy overall and would recommend."

"Property was lovely and spacious, bathrooms could do with either un upgrade or deep clean but were functional and plenty hot water. We didnt use cooking facilities etc, just really bed and sitting rooms, but all were comfortable. Parking on the street is a bit of a challenge as its so narrow but is available. Great wee pub at the end of the street. And plenty of takeaways deliver."

"Overall the property was in a great location.Flat was everything that you needed. Pity however that it was missing just a few little touches. A small bottle of milk would not have gone amiss. No salt and pepper. The TV remote control needs to be replaced. Control buttons not working . Could not get any BBC channels on free view . All small problems .
