"Nearby to the castle. Easy to get to from the train station. Only drawback was loud people on the streets at all hours. Very clean and had everything you needed."

Our trip to Chain Runner is always brilliant that’s why we always stay at the Chain Runner when going to Livingston. The only problem was we were beside the door where people were going upstairs & they would let the door close on it’s on so there was a fare bit of banging. Perhaps they might change the door mechanism to a soft close.

We had an overnight stay and arrived late so not sure what is around the area except a huge Asda within walking distance. Check in staff were amazing - very friendly and so helpful. A total credit to the hotel!! The bar area is very spacious and welcoming. Room was big and plenty room to move around

This place is in Livingston but it could be out in the sticks; extremely quiet, birdsong in the morning and some nice walks to be had.
Well stocked public bar, friendly staff.
Only ate in the bar and that was decent pub food. Didn't try the restaurant so can't comment on that.

Hotel and Spa staff were very welcoming and helpful. Chef was amazing cooked a special vegan meal for my daughter each night we ate in hotel, as there was nothing suitable for her on menu.
Room was comfortable and we had everything we required (only feedback I would give is that it would have been more useful to have a couple more sockets available). Loved the spa and we were very happy with the treatments we had. We also enjoyed the pool facilities (hydro, sauna and steam). The surroundings...

Just got home from a weekend here and it was absolutely beautiful... breakfast options were great and swimming pool, sauna and steam room were great. My only bad point was the mattress wasnt all that but maybe its be being fussy. Netherless a beautiful place and we will be back in the summer

I can't fault the hotel, the staff, the bar, the food or the price.
Staff were young but knowledgable. Food was simple but delicious. The bar had inventive twists on drinks (Negronis with port replacing Martini Rosso? A hot chocolate with Remy Martin?)
If you're looking for a hotel that is bang in the centre of Edinburgh, look elsewhere. This is in the beautiful area of Stockbridge, 20min walk or 5 min bus ride from Princes St.
We'll stay here again. Loved it.

We stayed here to celebrate my husbands special birthday. From the moment we drove up and saw the impressive ship we knew we were in for a special treat. Everything about this place is incredible. The staff were so helpful and very welcoming.
You helped make my husbands birthday treat a very special memory.
Thank you !

This was a great place to stay for our family trip to Edinburgh. The tram station is right outside and only 20 mins ins. We drove and parking was straight forward albeit chargeable at £8 per day. The pool was a real added bonus for our kids after a long day of tourism.
Only slight issue for me is our kids are getting older and Novotels concept of a "family" room is starting to look less desirable than the Premier Inns as the sofa bed is tight. There is enough room for these to be slightly...

An excellent hotel with character, class, and great service. I can understand why The Balmoral Hotel is such a famous place to stay when visiting Edinburgh.

Wonderful stylish hotel just opened so very clean and fresh. My room was an apartment with kitchenette (I don't think there is a dining room), high quality spacious bathroom and very high speed WiFi. Staff pleasant, location central and good bar/cafe area. I wanted to stay longer and will definitely stay next time.

The room was very well appointed. There was plenty of storage space, sockets in convenient places and the shower room was perfect. It was great to have a proper plug in hairdryer and also an iron and ironing board. The bed was really comfortable. And on a longer stay, the kitchen area with sink, fridge and microwave, would have been very useful.
The reception staff were warm and friendly, always free with advice and interested in what we had been doing.

I have never stayed at this hotel before and I will 100% be returning. Super clean, fantastic finish and the bed sheets were so soft! Couldn’t fault a single thing. We stayed on a Saturday night (on floor 9) and you could hear a tiny bit of noise from local streets but did not disturb our sleep one bit. All staff were super friendly too. Fab location too. Thank you so much.
